Hohenthal Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Hi everybody, just had (once again) that thought, what if I could afford to have my own custom made vitola? In my case, I would totally go for a 13.5 by 44 cigar, like a longer Coloniales or "Cosaco Gorda". Just imagine the miracles one could do with a Rafael Gonzalez in that format, the small brother of the Corona Extra or a Ramon Allones Hybrid between Small Club Corona and Superiores... What are your daydreams? Best, Alex
Blakes Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Hmmmm... difficult question. I do like a variety of different sizes for different occasions and to mix things up a bit. If I had too choose one.. I think it would be a Laguito no.2 (38 x 152) Not too long, not too short, not too thin, and certainly not too fat. Just about right for me.

Might be a misunderstanding, I did not mean which of the current production cigars would you chose ("...if you were stranded on an island" sort of thing) Rather, which one - in addition to your regulars - would you invent / create specially for yourself?

Ahhh.. Sorry, my mistake. I'll have a rethink.

BonVivant Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Laguito no.1/Delicado = 38 X 7 5/8" the pigtail is not important based on the past, something, like: ERDM GDE, Partagas SdC no.1
Blakes Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 44 x 5 A friend of mine was saying the other day he would love something around 44 x 4.5/5
Upnorth3 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I absolutely love the lonsdale, churchill, CG formats, but if I had to create one maybe a 6.5 by 54 just for kicks, which may already exist.
dangolf18 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I'd go for a Cohiba Conde 109 (regular production). If not, perhaps a 157 x 41 mm parejo.
Smallclub Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 A friend of mine was saying the other day he would love something around 44 x 4.5/5 That's about the size of the old style Eminente, when it was machine made (Upmann corona major, Partagas petit corona especiale, Partagas corona senior).
Lant63 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I'd go for a Cohiba Conde 109 (regular production). If not, perhaps a 157 x 41 mm parejo. X2 or maybe 38 X 5 a shorter CCE or especial 2 with the ramone allones profile with the pig tail and either a shaggy or covered foot
mm12 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I think I'd either want a very full-bodied Ramon Allones Laguito No. 2 or a Por Larranaga Corona Gorda with a flavor profile somewhere between an Encantos and a Montecarlo.

Ryan Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Dalia extra, stick about an extra inch on. 194 mm X 43 rg With a rounded '109' head. Rich sweet creamy coffee flavours, emphasis on the 'rich'. Oily dark rosado wrappers. 898 box or cab of 50.

Troels Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Rg 30 x 100 mm (du maire format) boli pc or party short profile - really need that option for a very quick smoke
JohnnyNorth Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 That would be a Partagas Lancero. Bold, strong, spicy, sexy ou jeah ?
Smallclub Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 That would be a Partagas Lancero. Bold, strong, spicy, sexy ou jeah That's the Partagas Série du Connaisseur No.1. Exactly the same size as a lancero. Discontinued but still available in some places.
Smallclub Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 • a Corona Grande or a Cervantes with the blend of the El Principe and /or the Reyes; • a longer Bolivar Royal Corona: the same blend in a Gordito or a Dobles size; • a medium sized double figurado, such as a Tacos (like the Partagas Presidente), in each marca…
rigby Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 a petit unico 4 & 7/8" by 50 with the blend of a JL#2 in 898 box... one can wish.
