I miss the serenity of stropping, putting a hot towel on your face, lathering, shaving, and then stropping again. I haven't used my straight in a few weeks now, been using my Merkur Futur DE as I have been mad busy. I will probably hone it over the weekend and get it shave ready. Hypersomniac Posted October 10, 2013 Share Posted October 10, 2013 I've never used a straight edge. I currently use a Merkur 23C and sometimes a Gilette Mach 3 when I am traveling. I've always been interested in a straight razor, but I suppose I will stick with the DE. I am stubborn and want to find a good blade and technique before I move on at all. That said, I have been looking at people making their own knives for the past couple weeks and this is the first I have seen of someone making their own straight razor.
