CaptainQuintero Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I have to be honest I thought these were dead and long gone but according to Trevor's site they are still in production. I think I can honestly say I've never ever seen one or seen them for sale. Anyone seen them recently? I'm guessing they have been squeezed out by the Coronas Junior and now Half Corona?
ramon_cojones Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 you love getting these obscure machine made sticks bro i swear LOL
Smallclub Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 you love getting these obscure machine made sticks bro i swear LOL It's not "obscure" as it is widely distributed in Europe, and it's not a "machine made". btw, why people don't understand that there are no more "machine made" habanos?
CaptainQuintero Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Cool thanks! Anyone tried them before and after the 2002 change?
Smallclub Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 They are to the Upmann line what the Sport Largos is to the RyJ line. Small, strong, well priced, generally well made, sometimes a bit agressive, full of flavor… that said I can't see a reason to buy these when you can have a good deal on the half corona…
laficion Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 It's a very earthy cigar,Very good for a walking cigar,I would reccomand them.
CaptainQuintero Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 I just got flashbacks on the RyJ 5 pack tin julieta things; had one yesterday and age has not improved it! Still very harsh and unbalanced, like a big mini

Smallclub Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I live in the states and nobody smokes them here. That doesn't make it "obscure". Most US habanos lovers know only the offer of the main online discounters. When I started to attend US cigar forums, 95% of the posters had never heard of the PL Montecarlo and PL panatela which weren't available online.
CurtisEss Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Damn the PL Montecarlos! They began my infatuation with small RG Habanos, which now is like being infatuated with dinosaurs or rainforests.
Hohenthal Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Upmann Epicures are widely available in Spain, almost every Estanco / tobacconist carries them. Excellent small cigar, more earthy, as Guy has statated already, Upmannn with a little kick. Like them a lot, highly reccommended! Cheers, Alex

Of course it does as it's relative to my location therefore making it obscure here. US cigar forums aren't an indicator unless you are on private forums in which case these guys smoke everything and having attending dozens of serious herfs I've never seen or heard anyone make any mention of these and I've seen some pretty obscure stuff. End of story.
