Can't hardly wait. They really need to beef up the Punch marca...not just with this Regional Edition stuff, but with regular additions to the marca.

  • Habanos s.a. presents the second Edición Limitada -limited edition- of 2013. Punch is the brand selected on this occasion and the arrival to all markets around the world is expected in the coming weeks.

The Ediciones Limitadas -Limited Editions- of Habanos* (D.O.P) are highly appreciated and awaited every year by enthusiasts worldwide. They are characterized by vitolas -sizes- that do not appear in the usual range of the brand portfolio, and they are distinguished by a careful selection wrapper, filler and binder leaves which have been aged for a period of at least 2 years.

The wrapper dressing these Habanos comes from the top leaves of the Tapado – shade grown- black Cuban tobacco plant, and is relevant characteristic that identifies these special productions. This wrapper is usually slightly darker than the wrappers of regular range sizes of the brand.

The Ediciones Limitadas are made with the finest tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo* (D.O.P), Cuba.

Punchis one of the very oldest Habano brands, founded it in the mid of 19th Century by Don Manuel López of Juan Valle. Punch, whose name comes from the humorous magazine that was much in vogue at that time is still featured in every box, cigar in hand, and surrounded by 19th Century images of cigar making that remain virtually unchanged over a century and a half later.

This is the first time that Punch has an Edición Limitada -limited edition. Punch Serie D’Oro No. 2 (ring gauge 52 x 140 mm in length) is a figurado –tapered at one end- vitola specially selected for this Edición Limitada, 2013. These 25 Habanos are produced “Totalmente a Mano”- Totally handmade- after an exquisite selection of wrapper, filler and binder leaves coming from the Vuelta Abajo* (D.O.P) plantations and aged at least 2 years.

This Edición Limitada 2013 has been produced in very small quantities. All the Habanos were made by Cuba’s most expert rollers in order to create this exquisite Habano for the most distinguished smokers.

Punch Serie D’Oro No. 2, with Punch’s distinct aromatic medium flavor, will be available in the classical Labelled Box with brooch (CBB) of 25 units. The arrival to outlets all over the world is expected in the next weeks.

Brand: Punch Commercial Name: Serie D'Oro No. 2 Factory Name: Campana Measures: 52 ring gauge (20,64 mm) x 140 mm in length. Figurado. Presentation: Labelled Box with brooch (CBB) of 25 units.

Price on some of these LE's now is just getting to the extreme.I also wish all LE's were the usual 25 count boxes and not 10's.

I wouldnt be able to afford them if they were 25 count boxes

That wouldve made the Cohiba 1966's over $1300 a box!

Posted

I was thinking about that (25 boxes instead of 10):

The prices would be:

2011

COHIBA 1966 - US$934.45

HOYO SHORT - US$332.50

RA AL EXTRA - US$261.32 (already a 25er)

2012

MONTE 520 - US$573.75

PART C3 - US$393.60

UPMANN ROBUSTO - US$334.15 (already a 25er)

No "25 box discount" was applied.

If I made any mistake, please, correct me.

PS: used FOH price list in 06/aug/2013

Went straight from LHR to my favorite London area B&M and had one of the Punch 2013 LE's on Thursday. My jet lagged palate said leathery, woody, young with potential. £21/stick.

Are they worth that, in your opinion?

Tough question. I liked it but won't be buying more at that price. The other two blokes who smoked them said they were impressed and planned to buy a box. If your budget can handle it, I'd say go for it.
