WarriorPrincess Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I arrived back today from my break and my gorgeous sister Lisa comes in this morning to explain all that is needed when she helped me out while i was away . But she walks in with a little "Blue Bag" with Tiffany & Co on it and says "Happy Birthday" from the family. Inside was a beautiful pair of sliver heart shape earings that of course went on my ears straight away. Then Lisa starts telling me of the shopping trip with my other sister, Lucy, Mum and Lisa's best friend on Saturday to the city to buy the present. They made up their mind on the present with my mother asking "are you sure she is going to like these??" They both agreed and asked the assistant to "wrap" the present. While they were waiting my mother went up to girl and asked "do you give a discount for Pensioners?" while the girl was looking around for the cameras in case she was on a bloopers show, my sisters after picking up their jaws of the ground told Mum, not at Tiffanys. Her respond "no harm in asking and you never know" Lisa's friend walked out the store when she then said "for the amount that we just paid they aren't even going to wrap the box" Lisa and Lucy then had to tell her, "trust us when Diana sees the box there will be no need for wrapping" Still muttering she walked out of the store shaking her head....needless to say from now on she will do any jewellery shopping at the lower priced stores . Like I said "I love my mum" never a dull moment with her
Hohenthal Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Sweet story - hope you had a great b-day weekend and welcome back! Alex
El Presidente Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 good on you Rina! Even Tiffany's should provide a pensioner/seniors discount! To be honest Di, maybe the pensioner/senior had to be present
Ken Gargett Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 something just doesn't fit... "i love my mum" by the warrior princess. bit like 'i cuddle puppies' by rambo or 'i grow daffodils' by claude van damme.
OZCUBAN Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Great story Di you are truly blessed we all love our mums Can't go wrong with Tiffany&Co that's what I've always found :-) Glad you had a great birthday was my wife's was on Sunday
mazolaman Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Great gift. My wife also has an (expensive) love of Tiffanys...as I discover when we end up in Zurich or London... I admire your ma's guts to ask..I didn't have the guts to. Next year, when you turn 27, have a look at Wright and Teague...another of my wife's (expensive) favourites...
Blakes Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Haha.. My nan's like that... Pensioners, they don't hold back.
Stanislaw Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 ha! she's sharp, you can't make stuff like that up... welcome back!
Warren Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 At least she didn't ask for the breakfast menu. Happy Birthday dear.
WarriorPrincess Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 good on you Rina! Even Tiffany's should provide a pensioner/seniors discount! To be honest Di, maybe the pensioner/senior had to be present Keep digging Rob about my age and I must just have to retire
jay8354 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Still funny even after I heard it the first time from Lisa
