EuroTrash Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Last week I tried a favorito and was pleasantly surprised. The only other quintero I had was not worth the butane to light it (can't recall which). For the price of these petit robustos I'm sold but *****INT is out of stock. The Nacionales and Panetelas are in stock however and I'm wondering if either of these is an acceptable substitute? Even at $80 a box I don't want to buy something I will never want to smoke.
CaptainQuintero Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Panatelas are decent, same flavour as the favoritos but a bit more concentrated, less mellow. The brevas is quite harsh if you like that type of thing. The rest of the line isn't anything to write home about imo. For the price/decent smoke ratio the favs are pretty much on their own unless you want to spend a bit more cash and go for the hoyo petit robustos
EuroTrash Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Ended up ordering some Fav from a local supplier. Got 4 5 packs. I'll see if the still hold any appeal after 20 sticks and if so they will be a regular day time smoke.
garbandz Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 The Brevas have been a solid reliable smoke, generally either ugly or decent visually, but well made and burn ok. You will get a couple duds out of 25,no big deal. My Friends keep them too,for yard gars....
sandrela Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 It drives me nuts that some of these NC cigar manufacturers, and NC custom rollers, play loose and fickle with words to try to confuse people, such as is also the case with Handsome Jimmy customs also.
maxcjs0101 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I have a box of Brevas but hadnt go the time to try em out yet. I know that they're short filler but what about the favoritos? Are they short/medium/longfillers?
Smallclub Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I have a box of Brevas but hadnt go the time to try em out yet. I know that they're short filler but what about the favoritos? Are they short/medium/longfillers? The Favoritos is short filler. It's the first attempt of a large rg cigar rolled with short filler in Cuba, to my knowledge.
oliverdst Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 So guys, bumping the thread to ask, what would you recommend as a better cigar than Favorito in this PRICE and FORMAT range?
garbandz Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 there is nothing in this size/price to compare........ 1
ErikB72 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 I smoked one in May that had been lying in a disused hotel bar humidor for a long time. It was one of the best smokes this year. Glad I just bought two boxes/bundles (from april ‘16) .Smoking exceptionally well 4
