OZCUBAN Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 A crazy trick - must see !!!!! According to French scientist 'Antoine Laurent de Lavoisier' : "Nothing gets lost, nothing gets created, everything is transformed." So, how can this trick be explained? If you can explain, please let me know. http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=40360
MIKA27 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 WTF!? Hope you don't mind Steve, I thought I'd post the video here.
Phillys Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 You don't see the camera fade? also notice that some of the squares are longer than they should be at times. Not really magic.
OZCUBAN Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 No that's ok still had me f&@ked though I think it's the angles on the cuts
Natedog Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Slight of hand. Would love for him to stand so we can see the extra tiles fall of his lap!
marty922 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Not slight of hand. it's a mathematical thing. Best explained by this video
Jeremy Festa Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Not slight of hand. it's a mathematical thing. Best explained by this video Science rulz!
canadianbeaver Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Not slight of hand. it's a mathematical thing. Best explained by this video This one makes a square puzzle into a bigger rectangle and adds a square. Not like the OP's puzzle, which keeps the puzzle exactly the same in in the frame with 3 leftover pieces. I have found the exact solution, with the OP's puzzle included. Not too big investigating here. It was on the page of youtube when the video above ended.
canadianbeaver Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 called it Not that the illusion is any less entertaining. I have been enjoying some great books lately about magic, including one called "Fooling Houdini". It was so interesting. It basically divided magicians into a few categories, and the more modern guys don't even care if you know how the trick is done. It does not mean you can do it and they will change it on you anyway.
Phillys Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 It is entertaining, but what is the point of "magic" is it is just about camera fades, I see no talent whatsoever here. Now I have seen magicians or card guys (light speed card swaps) with outstanding talent. If this guy could do the trick with me in front of him and I do not notice, that is talent, this guy is just a hack with no talent doing camera fades.

Chris7 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Not sure how many redditors there are here but this was on reddit recently, although everyone was doing it with chocolate hahaha. Theres a thread somewhere that has a picture someone drew in CAD showing what actually happens.

Obviously the camera fade is used, because he replaces the centre piece with a larger version, which allows him to perform the so called "illusion" three times! Science rulz. Magic is OK.
Deodato Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Shame if that was done with camera tricks. I had assumed it worked like these triangles. When the pieces from the top triangle have been shuffled around, where does the hole in the bottom triangle come from?
