stogieluver
Why is the 898 varnished 10's single priced at $15.17 and the 898 varnished 25's single priced at $12.51? I don't understand the difference between a 10's single and a 25's single. Isn't an 898 single a single?
BatFastard
If you're referring to the C.U.N.T.I.N.T. website, I believe it's because the box price is divided by the amount of sticks in the box. The more sticks in the box the lesser the price per stick.
stogieluver
But if look at the single price for the 898, it has two prices. A single is a single, whether it comes out of a 25 box or a 10 box. What am I missing here? I'll take the single out of the ten box, but is it different from the single out of the 25 box??? Overproof
10 should be called a 3-4-
Wil
The 10 box is (proportionately) more expensive than the 25 box.
oliverdst
Probably the website automatically divides the priceof the box by the number of cigars. No human being involved.
Fuzz
Shh! Don't you guys know they reserve the best quality cigars for the 10 packs?
Trevor2118
10 should be called a 3-4-3 Actually no. Habanos SA refer to all the round sided boxes as 898, and are available in 10's, 25's and 50's (the 50's contain bundles rather than layers). Overproof
Thanks Trevor..I thought I had read it had something to do with a row of 8,9 and 8.
LGC
People are more likely to buy a 10ct box because people perceive them as more affordable. Therefore, it's only natural that they jack up the price per stick in the smaller boxes
dangolf18
It's just simple price discrimination. Diminishing marginal utility (sorry I'm an econ major lol).
stargazer14
Actually no. Trev is correct of course but I think the key here in Overproff's post is "should be" called 3-4-3. Are there any '3-4-3's Trevor? Meaning, do or have any smokes only come in a 10 box with that layout?
