I have some boxes coming in (a few weeks away). No idea on pricing.

Has anyone tried one? Would love to hear your thoughts on this Short Robusto.

We have a thread going on these in Cheap & Cheerful you might check out, there are some

notes from folks who tried them.

I'd be interested in trying some myself, but it's up to you let 'em lose Rob!

If you wanted a plethora we'd post the reviews in the Review Section,

you are in C&C's - the reviews are cheap too!

I promise to post one there when they come in peace.gif

First 10 or 20 puffs come in sweet, but the cigar smokes raw the rest of the way down. About what you would expect for the price, but to be honest, I would prefer to smoke a LFDC PC. I smoke very slowly, but this one may prefer abuse to hold it together.

Okay, Captain Quintero - you're needed here!

I'm pretty keen on getting a box of Quintero's for nostalgias sake rob.. Looking forwakrd to recommendations on them and feelings on this one.. I tend to lean towards the thinner medium sized cigars for time and just smokeability..

Yes, yes...my mistake thinking C&Cs stood for Cuban cigars..lol

I was actually confused and a bit irritated to see so many people talking about Cuban cigars and typing C&C instead of CC....Ha

These cigars are readily available from a grey market vendor for 50-60 Euros for 25, depending on packaging - BTW, is this C&C thread?

The cigars are what you paid for =

These are a good Cheapie.

Quite floral all the way down, bitterish at the last, but not too bad.

The flavours did remind me of a D4.

Holds Together well for a short filler, no mouth full of bits.

I've smoked worse for 3x the price.

Its an interesting brand and I look forward to trying the Favoritos. I have been finding my Brevas to be very good,

but my slightly more expensive (expensive being very relative when speaking of Quintero) Londres Extras are barely smokable.

This sounds like it might make a good fishing smoke. The problem I have with most cheapies is that I can't get any flavor out of them.

Your best bet for fishing smokes is to keep finding young Ramon Allones regionals, like the one they did for Portugal or stick with Partagas D5s.

It's what I call the parking lot at the Jets game cigars.

Thats me last weekend on the beach in FL with a Quint Brevas in my mouth -

"If the waves make a splash, have Quintero as your stash!"

Smoking a 1966 while fishing sounds romantic but is just plain dumb.

I've only smoked 1 but this is a pretty good description.

Ok so I came home today and found a package. Favoritos Nov12. All I can say is, you get what you pay for. Some look good with good construction, others look crappy. They smell of Cuban tobacco with some ammonia, nothing amazing. I'm going to sacrifice one this weekend and report back my findings. BTW I took them out of the original packaging and put them in a cedar box. That might help with their aging lol

Hmm they look pretty good I think.. whats the size on them?

Posted

Yikes they're a bigger size then.. I'm thinking something on the smaller size.. although I did have and enjoy a choix supreme not so long ago and apparently thats a similar size?

The sizes vary wildly in my box from 48ish to 52ish, and the length is out by about half a cm on some, I wouldn't have it any other way :D

They are roughly a robusto.

I can't wait to try mine! More excited about these than any of the el from 2012 or 2013 LOL
