Scdalak Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Nuff Said... Crippling Blizzard.. Snowblower, Generator and Mag 50 standing by......
kevinfj Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 CCCCCCCrrrrrrrrraaaaaaappppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REASON Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 57 inch WTH.. That's insane amount. Stay safe!
Scdalak Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 I think the 2nd scenerio is less likely, Stars have to serioulsy align for those amounts to happen. That being said 2 feet of snow would be crippling...
Scdalak Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Sorry Big Shlo... INCHES IT IS!!! 57 INCHES = 144.78CM
Scdalak Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 YES it was inches, to be fair, that was the "Most Extreme" model, and unlikely. The first Map above from weather channel is most likely with the 2-3 feet Scenerio. Personally, even 2 ft scares the heck out of me.. 3 feet would be epic even for us die hard New Englanders...
Puros Y Vino Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Whoa! We're expecting up to 25cm at worst. On the positive side....you can build a seriously cool snow fort. You might want to stock up on a few supplies before it hits..

Its insane around here, They are calling it "Snowmageddon" All supermarkts, gas stations, Home Depots are are packed and shelves emptying out.. Also--- just to help out Shlomo.... 25CM = 9.84 Inches
brazoseagle Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 It's 70F here today, enjoy the snow Steve. Do you ever think that the weather you Yanks get is some form of prolonged punishment? Anyway, something to think about.
maverickdrinker Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Propane tanks are full, cigars are picked, scotch is selected and the garage will be my safety zone.

CigarB Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 The weathermen love this stuff, it's hilarious watching them in all their glory!
Scdalak Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 The weathermen love this stuff, it's hilarious watching them in all their glory! Scdalak Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 x2. Been there, froze that. Happy to be south of the Mason-Dixon now. Living in New Englad is pretty darn good. No EarthQuakes, Mudslides, Tornadoes, Tsunami's, Wildfires, Oppressive extended Heat, Minimal Hurricane Impact. Overall, enduring a 4 Month stretch of Winter isnt so bad... That being said, I still love warm winter climates..
Drguano Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I won't believe they are serious until I see Anderson Cooper in his parka. Or does he just do hurricanes?

El Presidente Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I believe it is a natural disaster when the temp falls below 10 celsius
JaggedSuplex Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 We get below 60F here or some mist hits a window we have a tropical storm coming on. Gotta love Southern Cali and the severity of not so serious weather conditions. Hope you guys in the Northeast stay safe
NMJoe Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I was watching the Weather Channel last night and they showed a graphic with all of the various weather models' predictions for the storm's snowfall. The mean for all of the predictions was 30". That's unbelievable to a desert rat like myself. We get two inches of snow here and we are paralyzed until it melts from the road's surface. Stay safe (but post pictures).

I've been through one earthquake in my life while staying at my uncle's house in West Covina and I about soiled myself. Sounds like a freight train before the ground actually starts shaking.
