Coolio Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 For anyone familiar with the weather here in South East Queensland, today was what we would call a typical late winters day. Early to mid twenties, not a cloud in the sky, and a great day to pull the plane out of the hangar and go for a fly! And now I'm capping it off with a RASS on the deck and a cup of coffee. The icing on the cake! With Czars just down the road, why would you want to live anywhere else? AntiVirus Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Nice Pics. I'm jealous of the weather you're having atm.

LLC Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Great pictures, looks like a great way to spend the day.
Duxnutz Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Wow, awesome! Haven't been for a fly in a lightie in some time but looks like a hoot!
Drguano Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Looks great. What type of plane? Here is what Winter flying looks like in Minnesota.
Jnaube Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 For me you can't call it winter if there's no snow. I was raised in Quebec city and during winter, temperatures would regularly go,under minus 30 celsius and there would be so much snow in front if my house that youbcould not see it from the street. No BS here. Doesn't mean I'm not jealous of beautiful Australian winter.
Coolio Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Looks great. What type of plane? Here is what Winter flying looks like in Minnesota. It's a Jabiru J230. Not very big, and only a 2 seater, but very economical! It looks like Winter flying is completely different where you are!
Coolio Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Actually it was a carbon copy of your weather here in the west Not bad for winter . sv_ontour Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 The cigar was great Oz. Unfortunately the evening turned South when the Magpies got thumped in a big way by the Eagles! It was a great result wasn't it
asmith Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Yeah it has been perfect weather here, 37days without a drop of rain or a cloud. Perfect.
Dbone Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Great weather like that begs to be enjoyed with a cigar, enjoy
stogiecidal Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Wow! Stunning pictures. Wish winters in Canada were the same as yours!
Coolio Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 It was a great result wasn't it Not a great result for the feral Magpie in me! I went to the Piney to watch it and thankfully there was one Eagles supporter for the 30 feral Pies that were there, so he left safely. I spent the night going mad at Cloke, Dawes then Buckley. I hate it when year after year we wobble into September. Obviously the players love reading about themselves in the paper, and listen to Eddie talking it up, and believe all the hype. Apart from the Hawks, Cats and Swans, i can't really see anyone else threatening this year. The Hawks should do it based on form, but you can never rule out the other two IMO!
Coolio Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Yeah it has been perfect weather here, 37days without a drop of rain or a cloud. Perfect. Not so perfect Smithy when you mow the lawn and they shut down the airport due to the subsequent dust cloud! My lawn needs a serious water!

Yeah probably the Swan's or Hawk's year, I still have some hope for WC making it to 3rd week of finals. The Collywobbles have the team but have just seemed to switch off over the last few rounds. Anyway keep some of that fine weather going for me, I'll be over there next week. Mind you I'm happy for it to rain between now and then.
