gr8tdanz Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 Interesting responses! It absolutely has to be the way you were raised. Although until about 8th grade I didn't like PB&J. Once I did, I was hooked. I eat it a lot for breakfast. It's filling and a good cheap protein source. Never had Vegemite. What is it?

I think it's a kind of bi product from making beer. Or something like that. I met a kiwi living in Sydney when I was visiting Japan a year ago. Months later she convinced me to buy a jar of vegemite and try it.. Not very nice, but better on bread with cheese. In Denmark, it's quite popular having thin slices of chocolate on their sandwiches. In Sweden, we have a lot of salads on our bread. Basicly just stuff (shrimp, shellfish, ham, red beets, cucumber etc.) mixed with mayo and other products depeding on the salad. I think this is pretty exclusive for Sweden or atleast Scandinavia and it probably sounds a bit strange just as vegemite does for "us".
CaptainQuintero Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Vegemite is called Marmite here, it's marketed as you either love it or hate it. true too!
