Nino Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Thanks nino. What's the background on the sols... Never heard of them before. Thanks again. There's a 4-5 page background story on these cigars in Cigar Journal along with a review by Simon Chase among others. These cigars were from that same box. My review & report will follow. Forgot these beauties ( and took no pics of the PL UK ER or the Bolivar 5-ta Avenida ER Germany etc, etc, etc :-)) - Bolivar Britanicas :
BENN Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Looks like a great time and some epic cigars. So which cigar did you like the best during this herf?
Nino Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Looks like a great time and some epic cigars. So which cigar did you like the best during this herf? Certainly the SOL Aromosos Imperiales - I presented one SOL to a good friend, David of JJ Fox who reviewed it with me, we both were amazed and impressed with the vitality and perfect state of this cigar. Absolutely a very unique experience I was happy to share with great friends like Robert Fox, Dara, Stefan and Alex. La Escepcion also blew me off my feet. Wasn't much impressed by the Britanicas. I opened & shared a box of 98 Black Prince that had been sitting in my lockers for 9 years with no humidification and the consensus was that the cigar was outstanding, which made me feel quite good about my storage method.
cckandb24 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Now where do I have to fly, to hang out with you rockstars? That looks like an epic get together.
maverickdrinker Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Very cool! Thanks or sharing! Hope to run into you in Havana....

mk05 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Fantastico Nino!!! In what sense? Strength? Flavors? The price.
Nino Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Fantastico Nino!!! In what sense? Strength? Flavors? The blend, the perfect combination of aromas ( not overly strong IMHO, found out that I rarely consider cigars strong enough for me wheras others do .... :-) ) and the fact that, again IMHO, this is a great classic with huge potential.
Nino Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Thanks nino. English: http://www.cigarjour...agefromhongkong Thank you for the English link - my German link provides the links to further 5 posts on Montehiba's blog. The printed edition of CJ 1/2012 ( Spring Edition ) has 5-6 pages and fantastic detailed research on the box and reviews on the cigars.
