Dbone Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I got a box a few weeks ago from our host and I can't get enough of these guys. They're smoking very well. Fresh backed sourdough bread, light woody flavor. The flavors are very balanced with less than a year on the box. The finish is smooth and creamy and the construction have all been top notch. I'm really encouraging anyone thinking of scoring a box to not wait. Well, with the way Pres has been running specials I'm sure no one is ready to buy anything else LOL but I can't say enough about these.
ramon_cojones Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Sup D, Going to try an 11 soon, the epi 1 I had was very nice. I think we are in a nice period in terms of choices of quality cuban cigars.
Guest Robo Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Nice, I love these cigars. What's the box code on yours? The box I have is BLM MAY 11. I heard that the RBA/ABR are smoking better.
Coolio Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Nice, I love these cigars. What's the box code on yours? The box I have is BLM MAY 11. I heard that the RBA/ABR are smoking better. I had one from my RBA Nov 11 box as soon as I got it last month and I have to say I was sorely disappointed, given how highly I rate the Epi 2. Just full of that new stogie heat and tangy taste. I decided to put the box away until at least the end of the year, which I probably should have done in the first place anyway!
Rushman Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Couldn't agree more. Had 11's and 10's from different codes all smoked very well. One of my go to smokes. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631730,-87.070624
bobsled Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Smoking through a box of 5/2010 now. Very delicious cigar indeed. Just scored an HQ box recently. gonna let these rest for awhile but already I can see they are stellar.
ramon_cojones Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Got an 11 on me right now that will be sparked a little bit later and I will report my findings having smoked several 06s which I found to be good but nothing great. The epi 1 will be hard to top.
Dbone Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Nice, I love these cigars. What's the box code on yours?. MLO JUN 11
nikesupremedunk Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 This was my 2nd ever CC and I really enjoyed that one. The ones after for some reason, not so much. I still don't know why...
Lotusguy Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 This was my 2nd ever CC and I really enjoyed that one. The ones after for some reason, not so much. I still don't know why... Totally off topic, but I swear, every time I read your handle I mistakenly read "nikesupremedRunk"
Guest Robo Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 MLO JUN 11 I haven't seen any Epi #2 with a MLO box code, only Epi #1. It's supposed to be a good box code. I think it's from the same factory as BLM.
ramon_cojones Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 11 epi was pretty nice, don't know I'd drop cash for a box with other smokes on the list
backslide Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I love em with 3+ years, but I find them to be nearly un smokeable otherwise. Jason
phoenix Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 HDM from '11 may be the best robusto and CG in my current rotation...
Dbone Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 I had one from my RBA Nov 11 box as soon as I got it last month and I have to say I was sorely disappointed, given how highly I rate the Epi 2. I know the exact flavor you're talking about, and yeah it sucks. Just hot and blah. I'm sure there are variances between boxes, hope yours opens up soon
mk05 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Atrocious bands. Underwhelming experience post '05.
