Party shorts are always in my rotation. Right now, for that size, I also have H.Upmaan Half Coronas, Bolivar Coronas Junior, and San Cristobal El Principe. Siglo I is nice with some age and trini Reyes are also really nice but for the price difference I can't see myself buying a box of them ever again.

When I'm short on time, it's not unusual to smoke whatever I have a taste for. I'll put her out when I need to and relight later that day or the next. I wouldn't settle on a short format due to time constraints.

As Shlomo said, whatever I smoke it seems to be at least an hour or more LOL

IMHO, Bolivar CJs is the best small cigar currently. 2010s & 2011 are consistantly great. BUT, they are quite strong.

Nobody likes the Punch PC/half corona? I got some in Cuba last trip and they are great. Short for sure, and with only a few months on them are great. I can't recall the proper name... I think they are half coronas.

My Partagas Shorts are 50/50... some are incredible and some seem young... I think they're in a transition period. My BPCs are also settling in, but have a particular flavour profile that you have to be in the mood for. The last Trini Reyes I had (which was in Cuba) was wonderful. Sometimes I find the Principes to leave a charry taste but can reward with the rich coffee theme. The PLPC are consistently strong and satisfying, but in a pure Cuban twang way that you may need to be in the mood for-- very aromatic! They could be my most consistent PC right now. I love them.

If you're not stuck on the PC format, the PL Montecarlos (panatela) are great too, and fit the bill for a short smoke, but you have to draw slowly or they can burn too hot. The aroma is wonderful.

The cigar you describe is the Punch Petit Punch. It was a perla, like the Siglo 1 or the Monte 5.

It was my favorite in this size. With age they could develop an amazing fruity and nutty sweetness.

Fantastic cigar! I mourn the death of the 99 cabinet that I once had...

I'd say Party Shorts or Trini Reyes! Any other cigars mentioned will be good also.

If you want very strong flavor similar to Nicaraguan cigars than Partagas shorts. If you want mild to medium flavors, go with the Trinidad Reyes.

Thanks mate,What flavor profile you get from the shorts? and where do they stand in terms of strengh? I love the D4 for example but wouldn't search for such strengh in a short cigar.

Shorts are right up there with fullest in body of their marca, like the PCs for Bolivar. Generally stronger than PSD4s but because they are short its fully enjoyable.

Ultimately they can all be great cigars (SCDH el principe included) but only when you get a good box... so if poss avoid the luck of the draw and select yourself or get a trusted merchant to select for you...

enjoy
