asmith Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 OK hands up those people who have wasted 2.5 hours of their weekend watching the latest Batman movie and wished they had spent it doing anything else. Terrible movie! Just had to get that off my chest.
Puros Y Vino Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Know not what you speak of Smithy. Was excellent the Batman movie it was.
Lotusguy Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Yeah, my wife and I didn't like it either. What a let-down from Part II. Easily one hour too long as well.
CaptainQuintero Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 A Batman film without Danny DeVito is like a burger without cheese.
ptrthgr8 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 What made it bad? Terrible story or plot? Heath Ledger made the last one so awesome, so I do have a hard time thinking the new one could possibly be better, but surprised to see such a general blahness towards this one. Too much hype? Maybe I'll just wait for this one to be on In Demand to catch it at home Greg Sent from my HTC Thunderbolt using Tapatalk 2.
GernBlansten Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Agreed, Smithy. If the whole movie had been like the last 45 minutes, it would have been better. We saw it in the IMAX format which was pretty cool. Felt like I was on a 2.5hr ride.
cckandb24 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I really have to disagree. On the basis that this one is really the last one like they say it is, I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I also saw it in IMAX. Two thumbs up for me.
asmith Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Outside of Anne Hathaway looking very hot as Catwoman where does one begin in how crap this movie was. The hour of rubbish in the middle of the movie could have been cut out, seriously any decent rock climber would have just climbed straight out of that pit, the reading of the will crap at the end and Michael Caine crying, please. There are a couple more points but that would spoil it for others.
El Presidente Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 It went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. And then when you thought it might finish......it went on and on and on and on and on and on and on!!!! I wanted to kill Bruce Wayne just so I could leave the cinema!!!! The last time i was looking so forward to seeing the exit was Lord of the Rings Boredoms revenge. I mean....all three movies put together would make a great 3 hr flick. I kept yelling "Kill him Smeagle (whatever the frog person was)" 1 hr 30 minutes into the first movie. By the third movie (I have kids gents who insisted I sat through each excruciating minute) I was at my wits end pleading for the Orcs to find me in seat 34A and club me to death. As for Batman I enjoyed the previous movies. This one however was sooooooo overblown. Sooooooo slow. Soooooo stereotypical. I mean, why are good looking big breasted women made out to be baddies? I am tired of it and more than willing to start a support group

Don't let FreeFallGuy read this, he loves that trilogy of pain. I mean just throw the stupid ring of a cliff and the movie is over in 7mins.
mykeuva Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I thought the movie was just ok. Not as good as the second one. I'm going to watch it one more time to see if I can get an emotion for it, either love or hate.
Rushman Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Proud to say I've seen none of them --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631717,-87.070651
Coolio Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Certainly a waste of time from my point of view. I only ever go to Chermside to go to the movies, but this time I probably would have preferred to go clothes shopping with my Mrs! I spent the whole movie completely clueless as to what the big guy with the mask was saying as there were no subtitles. Although I did like the figure hugging catsuit worn by Anne Hathaway!
Hugomarink Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I think it's a good movie and a worthy closer to Nolan's Batman trilogy. With that said, Nolan's treatment is so dark and depressing that I am looking forward to a relaunch of the Batman franchise that may have a bit more levity. No, not a return to the crap Joel Schumacher ultra-camp disco treatment, but somewhere in the middle of the Nolan approach and what Marvel did with "The Avengers." It just needs to be a little more fun.
Styler Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Yeah, I totally agree. I really enjoyed Batman begins, I thought The Dark Knight was good but a bit too long, this one felt even longer and had very little of what made TDK good. It really fails when compared the The Avengers which was really well paced. With regards to the LotR trilogy, I loved the books in my teens so I am quite biased towards the films but I can see why it would be torture for some people (like my wife!).

I mean just throw the stupid ring of a cliff and the movie is over in 7mins. i wouldn't have left the Shire. First Hobbit "Sunday markets" and I would have flogged it for the price of a guinness and a haircut for Gandalf. In most countries a long grey haired bloke who turns up in your room unnanounced with a long piece of wood would be arrested.

KurtE Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Where do I start with Batman? It is the most overrated film of all time I think Let me just punch that vertebrae back in... um what?
MIKA27 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 OK hands up those people who have wasted 2.5 hours of their weekend watching the latest Batman movie and wished they had spent it doing anything else. Terrible movie! Just had to get that off my chest. BLASPHEMER!!!

I actually really like the LotR trilogy. So much so that I bought the BluRay set, too. But I agree that the plot was a little weak. I mean, damn, give the ring to those big eagles and let them drop it in the lava. Boom. Problem solved. Of course, that's not really the movie's fault... I think we can point the finger at Tolkien for that part. As for the new Batman movie, I had forgotten that Anne Hathaway was in this one. Now I know I'll have to see it, though maybe I'll just wait for it to come to InDemand so I can watch it in HD at home while smoking a cigar and drinking whatever the hell I want to drink. Cheers, ~ Greg ~
LGC Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I'll wait for this to come out on cable... instead of going to the theeeaturrrr.
sloth Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Aaron Eckhart was reduced to a framed photograph... which made this one eleventy billion times better than the Dark Knight by default. Though the joker was the only good thing to come from this series. It's done... time to move on.
khomeinist Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I disagree. Eckhart's performance was horrible and had nothing to do with the Two-Face represented in the comics. The only good scenes in TDK have the Joker..... Any Batman comic collectors in this thread? It greatly influences how the films are interpreted....
