ptrthgr8 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I'llbe damned if this thread turns into a hissy spat ! Nip it! No hissy here... but considered it nipped as far as I'm concerned.
AverageJoe83 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Hmm... seems you take everything very seriously. I was being very tongue-in-cheek when I posted that, but you're probably right, though, that most of the people on this forum wouldn't know how to properly use a firearm under duress in the first place. Most probably have no real experience with weapons at all. But there are many of us who do. So we'd probably be able to give you a few pointers along the way. Cheers, ~ Greg ~ Ok. When I need tips on how to shoot myself in the foot I'll give you a shout.
brazoseagle Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Here is a list of departure ports for cruises. If we had enough people in the group we could not only get a discount on the cruise but also connecting flights to the port of choice. If we wanted to do a cruise to Cuba, we would have to choose a Non-US port. http://www.cruisedirect.com/departureport/

Spend a couple of days there first, hit the ship and go to Cuba. Interesting!

amosnaim Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Shooting for mid 2013. Cool. Talk to me when you when you start planning, I got lots of experience in cruising.
gostgost Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I'd be there except I'd never be able to get my wife on a ship. She worry the entire time about the ship rolling over and the Italy captain didn't help my cause any.

Of course. Cancun to Cuba sounds cool, just as long as the damn state department doesn't get wind!
Duxnutz Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Mid 2013 could work and I think many Aussies are used to making the trek to the States so wouldn't be a big deal. Cancun to Cuba sounds awesome!

phoenix Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Of course. Cancun to Cuba sounds cool, just as long as the damn state department doesn't get wind! F! 'em. Just get yourself a foreign CC or cash card, and ask them (read: pay them) not to stamp your passport. It'll be all down hill from there
Squarehead Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I would be in the stern singing "My Heart Will Go On"... and then barfing over the side. I will hold the barf bag
Squarehead Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I will hold the barf bag Lisa,That was not me to post that.It was my upper management. Cheers Hans
bobsled Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Worst part about my first (and to date only) cruise was that my bar bill was as much as my fare. All inclusive booze sounds like the way to sail. Would definitely be interested in this!
IcedCanuck Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Never heard of an all inclusive cruise before when it comes to alcohol anyway. Fear of the bar tab is one of the reasons why I have always gone to all inclusive resorts instead of a cruise. This has definitely peaked my interest though and a cruise from Cancun to Cuba does indeed sound nice. I am interested for sure!
CanuckSARTech Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Yes, a bucnh of weekend warriors trying to be vigilantes hunting down people in a foreign land on their home turf who have known nothing but war their entire life sounds like a well thought out and logical plan.... Hmm... seems you take everything very seriously. I was being very tongue-in-cheek when I posted that, but you're probably right, though, that most of the people on this forum wouldn't know how to properly use a firearm under duress in the first place. 'em. Just get yourself a foreign CC or cash card, and ask them (read: pay them) not to stamp your passport. It'll be all down hill from there That's common practise, for them not to stamp your passport. For any visitors generally. They started that a number of years back now. It just saves a hassle for those that then have to go to the U.S. for travel afterwards, from being hassled by the U.S. authorities. No payment needed. Generally, you have to actually ask to have your passport stamped, if you so wish for commemoration's sake.
CanuckSARTech Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 And, hell yes to spouses!!!! My wife came out to the Toronto MegaHerf II, along with a fair amount of other non-smoking spouses, and she had a damn good time she said. She got liquored up a bit, and had a blast meeting some of the characters from on here. Smoke or no smoke, she doesn't smoke cigars, but she enjoys the aroma, and she doesn't mind all the group gathering to go with it. Also.... You guys DON'T want me to be stuck on a floating tin can, getting all liquored up, eating and smoking to my heart's (dis)content....but without something/someone to...ahem...curl up next to. Trust me - I'm a raging beast when it's been a while. No spouse, and I might get liquored up one night (now there's a surprise ), and end up humping the straightness out of Frank's or Riaz's leg.
