djork Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Hi All, I must say I've been a lurker on this forum for the past couple of years. Finally made the effort to register. Fondly recall I started with a tin of Davidoff Exquisitos. I don't do cigarettes, never wanted to. I guess I just wanted to try a cigar back then. Didn't really know what to expect, I lit one up while having coffee, a few draws while sipping on the coffee and I'm hooked to the experience! Soon after I moved on to Cuban cigars. My first Cuban was a RyJ no.1 tubo. Taste wise it was pretty harsh - to an inexperienced palate. Looking around online for cigar reviews, I chanced upon this site. Here is where I got to read about thoughts and opinions on cigars - something which I enjoy. All these reading led me to brands I'd otherwise not wouldn't have really tried, like the RG, PL, LGC, Fonseca, QDO... not to mention discovering aged smokes. And these very brands are now staples in my humidor! Well that's all for my little story in this part of the world, looking forward more good times! Enjoy your smokes! Andy

LGC Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Welcome! You certainly live in the right part of the world... if you are looking to spend some bucks on cigars
davidl Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Welcome! You certainly live in the right part of the world... if you are looking to spend some bucks on cigars I heard those days were over due to some sort of new tax situation that the government imposed on cigars. Is this true djork?
