asmith Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 So here is what happened.... As a lot of you know here at Czars we enjoy ourselves, some may even say that we enjoy ourselves a little too much and others will go a step further and say we have a drinking problem. I for one am in the final boat, and let me be the first to admit this; YES WE HAVE DRINKING PROBLEM AT CZARS. Now let me also add, I am proud of my problem. We put a rule in place at Czars a year or two back that there was to be no drinking in the office before 11am except on justifiable occasions, whatever that means. Generally we don't open a bottle of wine till the afternoon and it helps us get through the mountain of work that we have. Rob and I have also worked out that if we hear Di kicking the table and swearing at her computer we quickly race into action and open a bottle of NZ Sav Blanc and deliver a glass to Di. It helps to calm the savage beast and we all get to see another day. Now sometime that one glass leads to a second and every now and then a third. So this year Di is changing her ways as she will be doing DRY JULY. Rob and I both fainted when she told us well, maybe we didn't faint I am thinking that we both just fell over with laughter. Di asked us to be involved and we just laughed, our bodies need alcohol we can't go for a month. Anyway Di will be registering herself on the Dry July website so you will all be able to track her results as she goes and make a donation or two just to keep the pressure on her not to fail. Di well done Rob and I are supporting you 100%, Cheers everyone
rckymtn22 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Well, good luck Diana! It is going to be a challenge with those two around.
El Presidente Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 The stock market just opened in Australia. Winery stocks are down 15% on the news
NMJoe Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I once did July dry. July 2nd couldn't come quickly enough!
gersonmorelli Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I've tried staying a full month without drinking once...I was able to get to day 20 and was very proud of myself. More recently I am happy (or sad) if a go through a couple of days without a beer, glass of wine or scotch. Small victories I guess.
Miner Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Di I would have joined you, honest.. Its just the Boys are coming over to Perth and water costs more than beer at the Aviary. Good luck anyway, we shall toast your good health on the 7th !! Cheers

Colt45 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 If you're going to go dry, I think February is a better month.
WarriorPrincess Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Now let me set the record straight here!!! I decided to "TRY" dry July. I know i can do it as I did it last year without a problem. Ok since then I have made up for the lost month, but I still did it. When I told Smithy on Monday afternoon after a very stressful day with orders and emails and he fell on the floor laughing no really he had a sore lower back, that was his excuse anyway. I will keep you all up to date or I know that Smithy will week by week because he is right next to me in the office and I think by the second week he will be joining Rob up on the deck and keeping as far away from me as they can. Wish em good luck and for the month of July no one buy any shares in NZ wineries.
Ophidion Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I'm going on three years now you should be able to do one month no problem Good luck
brazoseagle Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 What are you trying to prove Di?? Is "Dry July" even a real thing? You Ma'am have de-railed (or should I say di-railed), you realize there are 31 days in July right? "Hey Everyone, I'm doing NotSober October!" It's that thing where you drink nothing but alcohol and by the end your body flat out rejects water and mild broths. Am I the only one not taking crazy pills? (Love you Di)
celtmick1984 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I'm with Colt 45; try February, it's shorter. In any case, I'll drink to your success! As October is Birthday month, I may be joining David.

Fuzz AI Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Di, I fully support Dry July... for most people buy up big at the liquor stores come 1st August!! Just so long as you buy from our stores, I fully support you. Hell, I need my bonuses after all.
isa Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 All the best Di - hope you come out with flying colours
Coolio Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Good luck Di. The only drawback to this will be sitting through 4 Lions games sober! We all know that Vossy drives you to the drink!
Warren Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Good luck Diana. I am pulling for you! I'm sure Di would be flattered but really there are some things we don't need to know.

Hi Fuzz Thanks for your support,I think I thought about it last night, while drinking my hot chocolate, that the money I am going to safe I can buy "New Shoes", and I might even lose some weight and that means new clothes, now that is an incentive to go longer!!! Sounds like a plan to me.
KurtE Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Here is evidence of Smithy fainting after realising the shocking news, I was quick on the spot with the camera. Even clutching at the heart.
riazp Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 You have my support Di! heck i'll even go sober with you in july just for the hell of it...i'll probably last about 5 days but thats still support!
