jay8354 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Having seen first hand what can happen when Diana is controlling herself at a Sydney FOH function, I am 100% supporting Di in her efforts going into Dry July. Members who had the fortunate of meeting Di, will agree that she is a lovely person and gets more loving with more wine. That includes Di disappearing to shop for shoes, while search parties are searching for her (after the falling incident). Her son, Todd who is 18, must have met with Ben (Rob's son) to compare notes. Since first thing he said when we met him was how sorry he is for his mum's behaviour! It will not be easy, since Rob and Smithy will have no issues drinking in front of Di to rub it in.
WarriorPrincess Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Thanks i needed that laugh today When I told Todd the other day he was in shock for about 5 minutes and then kept asking me "Why" He is a good son he doesn't go out drinking not like his mum when I was his age. Just spoke with Smithy and my incentive now is "New Shoes or new dress" but best is if I can go longer and save some money "a 4 day weekend to Hong Kong" Princess Bar here I come. asmith Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Here is evidence of Smithy fainting after realising the shocking news, I was quick on the spot with the camera. Even clutching at the heart. I seem to have a leg spasm as well. Still coming to terms with the announcement.
chr0nic Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 We put a rule in place at Czars a year or two back that there was to be no drinking in the office before 11am except on justifiable occasions I wish I worked at Czar Headquarters... sounds like a magical place to be employed. Cigars, booze... and in my head I'm picturing Oompa Loompa's. Though I think I'd chew through my wages during the 9 - 5 and never have anything to bring home

Just think, with the money you'll save, you'll be able to buy lots of shoes and sparkly stockings! But have a heart and think about the poor souls that your abstinence will affect. All those poor vinters who invested so much to produce that bottle of wine that will now sit on a shelf, undrunk and alone. Or the storeperson who will be sitting at the register with nothing to do but Tweet his/her melancholy that no-one is coming into the store to buy wine. And let's not forget about the poor schmoo sitting at his desk, goofing off on FOH, waiting for a bonus to come through that now won't because you refuse to drink during the month of July!
gr8tdanz Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Just be careful. If you get too much blood in your alcohol system your body may not know how to react.
