El Presidente Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 My faithfull Chesapeake bay retriever is going through a tough patch. Found him yesterday with back legs paralysed. The problem is spinal and he is at the vet for xray s aand tests. We will find out the full extent of the problem today but after an accident when only 3 months he has a dodgy back and pelvis. Keep him in your thoughts today for me. For those who haven't seen Cohiba before, check the link.

gersonmorelli Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I wish him all the best. This past April I lost my 11 year old Golden Retriever. He had a cancer tumor inside his nose and within 4 months after it was discovered we had to put him to sleep before he started suffering too much. God knows how much I miss him.
Munts Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Wishing all the best Pres. We lost a beloved pet last year and as devastating as that was, it reminds me of the story from a six year old who said “People are born so that they can learn how to love unconditionally, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long”.
ckearns Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Sorry to hear such bad news, Rob. Prayers have been sent for Cohiba.
frenchkiwi Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 poor fella, hope there's a way out for him. terrible to see dogs suffer, prob because of what munts mentioned above. best wishes.

NMJoe Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 From a guy who likes dogs more than many people, he is in my prayers. Please do keep us posted. Joe
cigcars Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 He will probably be prescribed Deramaxx or Rimadyl. That stuff helps a LOT with what sounds like plain stiff joints that come with age. My dog Tamarisk in Atlanta had to be on that toward the end of her life at the age of 14. You might have to crush them up in the mortar and pestle and put in some delicious cooked meat that he won't be able to resist. Please keep us posted, El Pres.
LGC Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Sorry to hear this. I wish him a speedy recovery. I still remember the day I said goodbye to my first dog.
