None of the people that volunteered to check into hotels ever got back to me with details and I have been too consumed with work to do research on the hotel. Suggestions anyone? I think you might be better off to just set the date, time, and place of the Herf and let everybody make their own reservations. Everyone is going to be on different budgets and have different preferences. Also some people will have points or be a member of different comp programs. You will not be able to make everyone happy. For example I'll probably stay off the strip. As for suggestions for places to Herf, ANY sports bar is good, some much better than others, Casa Fuente is good, bring your own sticks and just order drinks, but my favorite place to Herf is the Artisan hotel lounge off of Sahara and the 15. I plan on using my free Hotel.com stays that I have banked up. I don't think it's worth it to continue looking for a 'group' rate. I can book now for cheap at multiple different hotels on the strip. Professor Twain Posted September 15, 2012 Share Posted September 15, 2012 I have held back about this, I have a conference in San Diego the week before and didn't know if this would work. I just finalized my travel. I'm coming into Vegas the morning of Sunday, November 18, and I'll be flying out the morning of Tuesday the 20th. If there is a get together during that time, I will be eager to join in. If not, I'll have a great time exploring on my own. I found a great deal on a room and there should be many available. I've been a part of several other cigar get togethers of this type and had a great time. There was no showing off, just sharing great cigars and getting to know others interested in this passion. Follow up Herf after dinner at Casa but stopping by Joe's Stone Crab at Caesars Forum Shops to pick up Banana Creame pie to,take to Casa and drink with the double Illy French press. I hope you can understand that. That said, why can't the herf go forward without me? It's not like I made any firm reservations that now need to be canceled. Professor Twain Posted November 20, 2012 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Besides Rhumbar and Casa Fuente, there are several other places I'm hoping to check out tonight, Napoleon's in Paris, Fontana and Baccarat at Bellagio, and Andre's at the Monte Carlo.
