Ahh time for one of my favorites

Prelight:

SOLID cigar. Packed to the brim with a nutty, smooth, light wrapper. No major veins, extremely heavy. Small punch cut showed a little bit of a constricted draw, which was easily remedied with a larger punch. Cold draw reveals nuts, spice and wood (oak).

1/2:

I broke this cigar up into halves as the cigar is fairly short and the flavor doesn't change until the end. The cigar is jam packed with dense smoke that shows an incredibly nutty, fruity flavor with a smooth oak finish. There is only a slight spice that spends its time in the background of the other dominant flavors. Towards the end of the first half, the spice drops off a bit and is replaced by a prune flavor that is very powerful.

2/2:

At the end of the first half, I mentioned a prune flavor. This was only apparent until another .5" into the second half. After that it was replaced by a very mellow oak flavor that was backed up with a creamy peanut butter finish. The smoke remained cool and flavorful till I started burning down my hands. Full flavor, medium body... perfect afternoon smoke.

Overall impressions:

The HDM PR is a favorite of a close friend of mine and after I had the first one from a very ancient box (ancient in my eyes meant 5 years), I was hooked. It was a perfect "read the news, smoke a HDM PR and watch the trees sway in the breeze" cigar. I had previously had a NC cigar for this specific occasion (Camacho Connecticut) but this simply blew it away. I bought a box for my birthday and I had totally forgot about them as they are in the bottom of my humi. Just two months from OTT has done wonders for this cigar and I am looking forward to see what a lot more age does for them.

Love this cigar also, but have found them to be a little harsh when young.

Glad you enjoyed it! Makes me think I might need to revisit.
