DougB Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I am looking forward to some great cigars and some great golf over the next few days. Which guy do you like to win and have you picked out any cigars to enjoy this weekend during the tournament? For me- Rory to win Cigars: '06 Esplendido '11 BBF '99 Partagas Churchill '99 BCE
vanbellc Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I plan to take in some serious golf action as well. I love The Masters! I like McIlroy to win as well, but Westwood seems to be playing well enough to finally win a major. Tiger was lucky he didn't shoot a lot bigger score today from what I saw. He better clean it up if he wants to be in contention this weekend. Haven't thought a lot about the smokes, but I think I'll probably go with the following. Ken Gargett Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 you have the advantage. cigars at 5am (when getting, not pre crashing) are a bit of a stretch.
sloth Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 i haven't seen the highlights of that quadruple bogey...
Pilsner14 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 You gotta love "The Mechanic". Jimenez loves his cigars and I like him as a dark horse. Always plays well in Augusta. JD
DougB Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 you have the advantage. cigars at 5am (when getting, not pre crashing) are a bit of a stretch. Ken, surely it can't be 5 a.m. for the entire coverage Hope you get to enjoy some of the tournament nonetheless.
winelover Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I'm hoping the greens dry out as it's not Augustaunless they are fast and zippy. Would like to see a European winner Bring on the Ryder Cup!
gersonmorelli Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Trying my first Qdo Superiores RE while watching the Masters. Very enjoyable and it'd be a great change of pace cigar if it wasn't for the price tag... Obviously still young, particularly during the second third, but it has an incredible floral characteristic to it. A mix between lavander and Chinese oolong tea. Great construction and draw with the typical light colored QdO wrapper.
DougB Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 Not looking good for Rory...but Phil is lighting it up!
JohnLeupp Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 My golf soulmate, and man who should be this site's favorite, is Miguel Angel Jimenez. Love the way he approaches life. Some great clips of him are on YouTube stretching while smoking a cigar. He is the man. Had a tough day today though. So many good golfers out there, but as a fellow lefty and man of questionable shot selection, i dig Phil. That guy plays balls to the walls every time he goes out.
MoneyPit Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Hope Phil does well on Sunday +1 - I'm still amazed at that full swing lob shot he hit from behind the green on 15.
gersonmorelli Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Amazing second shot on the 10th during the playoff... Now that was a hook! Bubba really deserved it.
brutusthebuckeye Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 congrats bubba he can buy 2 more watchs now 500 grand for that. Wow. Its ugly.
Ken Gargett Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 amazing shot on that final hole. think we'll see that in highlights a few more times.
Wil Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Bit bummed for oosthuizen - he has an absolutely beautiful swing and I was hoping he'd get there. But props to bubba, he played some amazing shots to get the job done.
Guest robusto101 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Bit bummed for oosthuizen - he has an absolutely beautiful swing and I was hoping he'd get there. But props to bubba, he played some amazing shots to get the job done. I feel the same way. I've been an Oosty fan since before people knew him after his victory at the Open Championship. In my opinion, he has the most elegant swing in golf, I love watching him play. But Kudos to Bubba. That man has some talent.
danistalking Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Bubba's cut shot from the trees changed it all....amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acoP9GiV-t8&feature=related
jpn Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Was at the Masters for the second round. Great experience. Smoked a Boli PC and a Padron.
canadianbeaver Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 DougB and I watched the last hole together on the shoutbox, and did a play by play. That was so great! Lisa
Scdalak Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Bubba's cut shot from the trees changed it all....amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acoP9GiV-t8&feature=related The Pro's are saying its the most clutch shot in Masters History..
