dicko Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 These are my favourite smokes! (yep, join the club) One thing I've notice though, Smithy's PSP boxes aside, these are usually bloody ugly cigars!!! In fact, I'd say they are one of the least attractive cigars out there. Sure, they are attractive in a toothy, girl next door after 5 pints kind of way, but there are much better looking cigars. You know what, I don't care, because... They deliver in spades, time after time always flavourful, very consistent.

Colt45 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Count me as another fan. Come to think of it, I've a 50 cab in storage......
riazp Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Another Fan here. Gotta agree they are not the prettiest sticks in the world..although the HQ box I have are pretty damn sexy, they tend to be double baggers. But they are a amazing mareva!
SCgarman Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I dunno, I too have an HQ box like Riaz and mine look like dark chocolate candy bars and smell absolutely fantastic. Probably the ugliest cigars I have had are the Rafael Gonzalez marca, but looks are only that and I love the flavors of the brand.
Rushman Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I agree. I'm fact the BRC and BBF on my shelves are pretty damn ugly too. Rustic maybe. Beauty is only skin deep as these cigars consistently deliver. My BCGs look very nice though.
Dbone Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Put me in the BPC camp! I met a neighbor who smokes cigars, but never a cuban. Gave him two last week. He said he's never had cigars that good in a long time. He wants more lol. Anyway, its a great PC... great presence, rarely a disappointment, ages well, but I enjoy them young as well.
dicko Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Yes, I agree, beauty is only skin deep they are have "character" to their appearance. cheers all
MrGlass Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I've smoked nearly a box of these, but they haven't done that much for me. That being said, the whole Bolivar line I've trialled has failed to impress me so far. There are many more PC's I'm yet to try, but at this stage, I'd take a Monte 4 over a Bolivar any day.
Guest robusto101 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I guess they are like the "butter face" of cigars. Lol! Delicious in every way possible, though.

Probably just a case of this marca not agreeing with your palate. The whole beauty of cigars is what one person considers an exceptional cigar may be considered a dog rocket by another. If you love Montes them smoke the hell out of them. On the other hand I really enjoy the Monte profile but would take a Bolivar RC over any of the standard linea Montes, anytime, everyday.
