Seems to have the classic upmann profile and crushed the latest monte 2s ive had. I do have a 2011 box of monte 2s i havent gotten into yet...

Schumi5 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Got a box from the Czar last September with the exact same box code. Been trying one a month since. They were spectacular off the truck and have gotten better and better with each passing month. Classic, wonderful Upmann flavours and virtually perfect construction and draw. Upmanns were generally 'on' in 2011 and this is perhaps the best example. I enjoy the piramide vitola and the Upmann's were the best of the lot in 2011 in my opinion. Had a couple P2's that were better but generally not as consistent. Patience is a virtue that will be rewarded in spades with these but try one now as you will not be dissapointed and it will give you a good baseline comparison as they age. Enjoy and great pick up!
El Presidente Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 If you have the resolve to leave them for 3-6 months you will be rewarded. They certainly have performed well of late but like most Upmann, a little nap certainly adds to the flavour profile.

I have a box from JUN 11. I think I'm going to wait 'till spring/summer to try it out. Wrappers are looking gorgeous at least.
