Over the years I've never been able to find a BBF that blew me away. But if I could get my hands on some that were that rich and oily, I'd be all over them.

Agree it is one fine looking cigar. In my opinion the BBF is like the PC(except with a better draw and more smoke), and nothing at all like the RC which I find to be the odd man out in the Boli range. As you get to the last 1/3 on the BBF watch for the smoke to get viscous and brooding. I love them.

Man I love them PC's. Thanks HS =)

Boli observation and question:

I love Bolis and always bring a few PC or CJ with me when I travel. Now I usually smoke in the drier air of Alberta and south central British Columbia Canada and have had perhaps only two foul tasting Bolis to date. However on 5 occasions now when I have fired one up on Canada's west coast (literally hanging out on the docks) I have had a poor experience - the flavors were off and the cigar was harsh. Now I don't bother taking them with me for coastal adventures. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Any idea why this is happening? is the Boli destined to be a desert smoke?

I had similar experiences with cigars behaving different in different climates.

I had two cabs from Nov 10...I say had because I went through one inside of a month, they were fantastic each and every one.

I got a cab a year ago HQ and they are freaking awesome! :2thumbs:

First cc I had. The first one was terrible with bad construction, draw, and a lack of flavor. (not purchased from foh)

The HQ I received from foh are fabulous =]

I got my box of BBFs from the Czar a couple of months ago - don't recall the box code at the moment. I've not disliked the BBFs, but I haven't been wowed by them, either. They've just been so-so. They seem to be getting better the longer they sit in the humidor, so I'm hopeful that they'll be much much better in another year or two. The Upmann #2 and Partagas SP2 were both amazing right out of the box (got them about the same time as the BBFs) and they're getting even more amazing as they sit. The Bolivar RC was always one of my favorite sticks, but it just may be that my exposure to so many other CCs in the last few months has made me realize that there are other sticks out there that I like more than the Bolivars. I doubt I'll get another box of the BBFs any time soon... but I can see me stocking up on Upmann #2s, PSP2s, and the Siglo VI. I know the VI isn't really a fair comparison to the BBF... but those cigars (also received about the same time as the rest) are getting freaky-good the longer they sit. Would like yo get another box or two to let them age a bit more.

Regardless, it's great having so many great cigars available at the moment. It's definitely not a bad time to be a cigar smoker. :)

Cheers,

I have a box with the same box code and they really are so much better than the last cab I got in 07 which were light/medium bodied from start to finish. The POL FEB 11s are spot on and the wrappers on mine are dark and oily. I'm a complete boli ***** and these are really on the money.

I got the automatic editing treatment above as I meant to say "boli w h o r e" rather than anything actually rude.

Also forgot to mention that the Feb11's are like Rob said, they start medium and end full, and luscious exotic spice and white pepper flavours throughout.

Bolivar Belicoso Fino POL FEB 11

Lovely oily wrapper. Lightly barnyard pungent at cold as all good fresh BBFshould be

Draw at cold requires just a slight pull. Perfect.

Starting off medium bodied, touch of driftwood, earth,Sesame seed oil. Light white pepper spice through the nose…disappearing.

Really into a great rhythm at the halfway point. There is alovely richness to these which I have been enjoying for a month or so. Earth, leather, some nut oil. Lovely aroma.

It really gets better/richer all the way to the end where itis full bodied and introducing throughout the last third elements of cookingchocolate and white pepper spice.

BBF have had a rollercoaster ride in quality and consistencyover the past decade with last half 2010 /2011 stock seeing a huge improvement. I won’tcall these as back “on” until the next shipment mid-January but they haveforced themselves into my rotation :ok:

I have to agree. No plugged either. All smoke well.

Had one of these the other night ROTT. Can say honestly was one of the best cigars i've had in awhile without resting it first. Started floral, chocolatey, then turned into a symphony of up and down bitey then smooth gem. Incredible.

Hi all it's not often I quote myself but just having the first from a cab that I just recently got from Rob

The profile is as good as Rob says as there are probably the same code or close to it

Also the same as I have quoted , chocolate , pepper , white I think , very Earthy and spicy hints of cardamon

The last third is absolutely stellar everything a good Cuban should be

If you love the Boli profile you cannot go past these ,hard to imagine they could get any better

Washing them down with a Shiraz and to finish a Zacappa

Life is good

Hi Graham

You are right on the money with these , but I guess what this thread really emphasises is that every bodies palates are different and certain smokes just don't float everybody's boat but for me these are one of my favourites along with the Unicos mmm lol
