mazolaman Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Hi All, Father Christmas came early this year, and a box of R Y J Cazadores landed on the doorstep, from our hosts. Given that I had not seen these in a picture, I did not know what to expect when I unwrapped them. The aroma is mighty strong, and I'm chuffed to say they look very well made, with a good dark wrapper, even coloured, and they feel firm and even along the length. To me, they look and smell somewhere between HQ and PSP...happy days. They'll have a short nap till Christmas....... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Hohenthal Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Congratulations! I never tried R&J Cazadores so far, as they are said to be super strong, but looking at these, I might....
shrink Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 It's not that they're strong, though they are. I would describe a young Cazadore as "raw". Ah, but with five or ten years, they're sublime.
brutusthebuckeye Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Congratulations! I never tried R&J Cazadores so far, as they are said to be super strong, but looking at these, I might.... Cmon Man!!!!! grab a few and smoke em(slowly).....u ll b glad u did!! Nice lookin box of Cazzy BTW........
jedipastor Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Those do look good! This is one of the sticks I'd like to try soon, given my liking of strong cigars everyone tells me I need to get on these.
Ginseng Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Beautiful! I can't get enough of these. Wilkey
aavkk Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 The only cigar in the R&J line that I like, i'm a big fan of these.
Scdalak Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Ah yes, the dreaded Cazadores!!! Great Stick, Great Kick, they do slighlty mellow over time. Terrific Cigar to age...
Van55 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I'm not sure what causes the phenomenon, but opening the foil around a new box of Cazadores releases the most incredible aroma of Cuban cigars. Nothing like that smell. I'd buy a box just for that experience, but the cigars are good too. To my palate they're not as "strong" as they are reputed to be. I have smoked much stronger non-Cuban cigars.
thechenman Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Nice buy...among my top 3 favorite RyJs. Enjoy them!
bassman Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 The only cigar in the R&J line that I like, i'm a big fan of these. How true- and there are indeed plenty of stronger NCs, but the Cazadores have the bonus of great flavor. I'm crrently smoking 09s, but have a box from 2001 waiting.
mazolaman Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 I should add they are box code EUS from June 2011. From the aroma and size, they remind me a lot of gold medals.... Can't wait to taste them after Christmas dinner. I'll post a review then. These recently made cigars are looking fantastic, well done to Habanos for getting their act together in that sense.
