Trevor2118 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 New 'CuttingEdge' Airport Security Experts are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners. It's an armored booth you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on your person. This as a win-win situation for everyone, with none of this crapabout racial profiling. It will also eliminate the costs of long and expensive trials. You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter, an announcement: "Attention to all standby passengers, we wish to announce that there is a seatavailable on flight 670 to London".
TonyV Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Finally security that that gives you a good bang for your bucks.
mazolaman Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 That's actually a good idea. Not sure that bloke in the queue would get in the thing though.
Ken Gargett Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 trev, went through one to and from bangkok last month. weird things. had no idea they blew things up! no one mentioned that.
Trevor2118 Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 trev, went through one to and from bangkok last month. weird things. had no idea they blew things up! no one mentioned that. That part is meant to be a surprise!
headstand Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 A mechanical Judge Dredd: judge, jury, executioner. "This flight has been pacified".
Fuzz Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 And I thought all they did was sample the air for trace particles. My understanding is those machines also detect drugs, not just explosives. Pity it wouldn't work on binary explosives.
Ken Gargett Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 That part is meant to be a surprise! it would be a bloody great big surprise to the poor bloke standing immediately outside waiting his turn. didn't look all that 'hurt locker' to me.
Ken Gargett Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 They insisted that it was random screening and not everybody had to go through it. bangkok, there was no choice. everyone lined up and waited.
nick17 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Shlomo you should have said that you had a big bad of coke in your but then you have have had your chance
Montaigut Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Cutting edge maybe... but not so new. See below
Dbone Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Lol, awesome stuff Trevor. That sure did make me laugh because it'd actually be an excellent deterrent
CanuckSARTech Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 LOL. A good joke, Trevor. Looks like you reeled in KBG on that one too! LOL. But, could you imagine being the poor sucker who would be next in line after a blownup traveller ahead of you? Mmmmmm - a nice little mess. Either that, or a dirty job for a powerwashing crew!
