New 'CuttingEdge' Airport Security

post-1158-0-38941000-1322166861.jpg

Experts are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners.

It's an armored booth you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on your person.

This as a win-win situation for everyone, with none of this crapabout racial profiling. It will also eliminate the costs of long and expensive trials.

You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter, an announcement:

"Attention to all standby passengers, we wish to announce that there is a seatavailable on flight 670 to London".

That's actually a good idea.

Not sure that bloke in the queue would get in the thing though.

trev, went through one to and from bangkok last month. weird things. had no idea they blew things up! no one mentioned that.

That part is meant to be a surprise!

I actually really like that idea

And I thought all they did was sample the air for trace particles. My understanding is those machines also detect drugs, not just explosives.

Pity it wouldn't work on binary explosives.

it would be a bloody great big surprise to the poor bloke standing immediately outside waiting his turn. didn't look all that 'hurt locker' to me.

LOL. A good joke, Trevor. Looks like you reeled in KBG on that one too! LOL. :fishing:

But, could you imagine being the poor sucker who would be next in line after a blownup traveller ahead of you? Mmmmmm - a nice little mess. Either that, or a dirty job for a powerwashing crew!
