Please pray for my family this week and offer any sacrifices you deem warranted to help my family endure its plight.

On saturday, Florida State plays Florida. I am a HUGE FSU fan and my wife is an equally HUGE UF fan. Every year, this game incites a civil war within our home. If I cheer because the dastardly Gators have a bad play, then my wife gets pissed. If she cheers at a bad Seminoles play, then I get pissed. All of this escolates until one team (hopefully FSU) pulls ahead enough that the fan of the losing team (hopefully UF) gives up their frustration and storms off to sulk and kick at the dog.

On top of that, we have decided that we are going to put up the Christmas tree on Friday, which also leads to marital strife. Why the ornament that i just hung where she said to hang it needs to be move a centimeter is beyond me-then multiply that times 50 ornaments. And don't get me started on what it takes to get the tree perfectly straight according to her standards (usually a bottle of scotch for me).

To make matters even worse, my family is coming to our house on Thursday for Thanksgiving. As all in laws do, my family really gets under the skin of my wife and of me to some degree.

So, ultimately, by the time the game starts on Saturday night, the mood and conditions in my house will be less than desirable.

So, this is going to be a very tough week for my family. So I ask for any prayers or sacrifices that you deem appropriate. But not for me or my wife, we knew about each others proclivities before we got married. I ask on behalf of our six month old baby and dog. They are truly the innocent victims of this stressful situation. I just hope the baby's first words following this week are not swear words (unless they are "F@#$ the Gators"---that would be the best Christmas present EVER) and I hope that all the kicks aimed at the dog miss (he usually hides out in our bedroom). Thanks to all and have a Happy Thankgiving.

Mixed marriages are always difficult. Either convert her away from the dark side (worked for me with my wife) or get out now before she seduces you with her jedi Gator mind tricks.

Good gosh, man. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Just make sure you steal away for a smoke and a sip...otherwise, well, it doesn't sound good at all. :lol3:

This is a little offtopic, but I decided to go on...

I was reading today that some soccer fans in Germany were on a train station after a game and one young guy was pushed under a train by the fans of the opposite team. The poor guy lost his arm. For god sake!!! That is only sports!!! What are you thinking!!! Wake up!!! There really are many more important things in life, aren't there?

Relaxed feelings for your family though!

I feel for ya buddy. I'll be at the game in the middle of the gator booster section. Oh yea, I'm a huge Seminole fan. Will be garnet and gold head to toe. Go Noles!!

There's only one thing I see wrong with the OP's whole post.....

You DON'T kick dogs.

You kick cats.

:football:

Agreed, but in all fairness I said "kick at" the dog. He is quite adept at dodging and to be honest once the tempers flare (my wife is Cuban and certainly has the temper and I am of irish/scottish descent), the dog disappears to some dark corner somewhere. He is truly the smart one in the family.

On game day, I will post a pic of my daughter in her "split sports personality" game day outfit.

Thanks for all the good vibes.

I do not know you nor you wife. I am not a doctor, nor am I a scientist. :teacher:

However, I can say with great certainty, you should thank your wife for boosting the IQ of your 6 month old.

Best Regards,

Gator Nation.
