But in a recent effort to reel in tourist dollars, Cuban leaders approved four major projects totaling around $1.5 billion, of which half will go to the government. Cuba's tourism minister told the paper that the island could soon have as many as 16 golf courses, and that foreigners would be able to buy homes near the resorts. The resorts are aimed at Canadian, European and Asian tourists; as Americans are still barred from spending money in Cuba. frenchkiwi Posted July 26, 2011 Share Posted July 26, 2011 i play golf myself but the idea of cuba becoming just another golf resort for foreigners doesn't hold any appeal maybe if the courses were also open to cubans for a peso or less that would change my mind... but does anyone see what i'm getting at here?
