Looking for some opinions. Which would you choose? 1 box (10) Cohiba Piramides LE 2006 and 1 (single) Cohiba Gran Reserva OR 1 box (25) Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios

Depends on whether price is an issue. Gran Reserva run for £110 in the UK the last time I saw them, and that was online price not B&M.

Something special like those could be a nice investment to smoke on very special occasions, though, I'm not sure setting fire to something you've bought really is an investment

But for me, that's £1100 worth of cigars, that's 5/6 boxes of other CCs

edit- I didn't read the post proerly :D I thought you meant a ten box of any of the three choices.

It probably depends on what you want, are you looking for something special or something to smoke straight away or a present for someone etc

To be honest - none of the above.

... some people are just no help at all!!! Ross, that comment almost introduced coffee from my nostrils to my keyboard! :D

Mate, I have to agree with my distinguished colleague. You can get better cigars. The truth be told I have not smoked a GR, so I cannot comment on that cigar. Besides the experience, I can't imagine what would posses one to want to spend that much on so few cigars in the first place, certainly not taste, or quality because neither is guaranteed. The GR may be an exception.

I guess if I were in a quandary, I would buy some Monte Esp, Lanceros, Party SdC and LGC singles. I would experience a lot of cigars, likely enjoy the experience more and get better cigars.

*I would choose the box of 2006 Cohiba Pyramides LE and the (1) Cohiba Gran Reserva. The pyramides I would end up giving several away to tobacco & quality cigar loving friends, and the Gran Reserva would be for me to sample again. I've had one Gran Reserva that came in a variety sampler pack from another reliable vendor and would have to say I have enjoyed better...namely a regular production Partagas, either 898 or Presidentes. So I don't want that one to be the benchmark definition of quite an expensive cigar (even if it IS Cuban!) :D

What kind of friend would I be were I not willing to assist with a nasal enema?

To the point at hand, I know my post was of little help  If DD is looking to sample the cigars mentioned, that's great. I'm with you and Guy - there are

others I'd prefer for myself.

After my initial reply, I took the Fatboy out for a spin and smoked an Upmann Magnum 46 when I got back home. No that's a cigar I go for :D

... by the by. I just finished the last of a '99 topper of Party PC's. Damn nice little cigar. Split the time between the porch and the pooch, to changing out all the water in my horse corrals. They never should have discontinued this cigar. I have one more full cab of '98's and that's the end of them for me!

Nice day to smoke. :D

Thanks for the input guys, I settled on the Genios and another box of BHK56....I smoked the only '06 LE I had last night and after some reflection wasn't blown away by it...I will also grab another CGR single or 2 as well, I have 1 but really should have 2 or 3 for sampling...
