Environment: out for a walk; light drizzle; taking refuge near a construction site which has stopped work for the day Pairing: none Construction beautiful Light veins Smooth Slight Hint of greenish hue on the wrapper - as I expect from Trinidad Cap looks especially impeccable Aroma is sweet tobacco Firm to the touch, but good humidity on the stick Draw perfect amt of resistance Opening Can taste the youth. Wonky burn 1/3 Hint of cream in after thought Black coffee Grassy A bit of harshness 2/3 Tad more cream Starting to feel some heat on the stick Ash less uneven Lots of smoke medium thickness 3/3 Almost perfectly corrected itself on the burn Step up in strength Step up in harshness Still nice toasted tobacco Grassy No more cream No sweetness Reddish hue in ash Fragrant aroma from the smoke itself A little spice upon the finish Harshness has now deminished Strength hits up one more notch Ash is now salt and pepper gray More heat on tongue W/o the harshness this would be just delightful Duration 45 - 50 min Rating 87

It has gotten some great reviews, but I wonder if it is worth the extra cost compared to some of the other robustos like the RASS and the JL2? I am guessing that the Trinidad just has a different flavour profile. What was the box date on your Trinidad? Thank you for sharing, Curtiss

Appearance and construction were impeccable. Wonderful aroma out of the box. Flavor was not at all what I was expecting. Was very cool, soft leathery flavor. Occasional (but rare) hints of a sweet finish after the first inch. Copious volumes of smoke because of the very open draw (which I loved). Not much spice or power to it, but just a consistent cool breeze kind of flavor with a lingering finish. No heat, harshness or youthful bitter in it. I usually prefer a cigar with more complexity and a little spice and cream to it. But something about this cigar just drew me in - I took this one down to a tiny nub and was disappointed it was gone. That's usually my ultimate test for a cigar - when it is finished I 'm saddened that the experience was so short.

I am loving my iphone 4. convenient and clear crisp pics. agree on the construction and the box aroma... it hit me like a fist full of sweet tobacco mixed with cedar and barn yard aroma... I usually go right down to the nub too... wasn't far this time either... I am just glad that I 23 to go....heheheh
SCgarman Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I smoked 1 of these and while it was good I just cannot justify the high price of them. I can get 2 boxes of RASS or BRC's for the same price. However, for the Trinidad brand I love the Reyes, nice spice and creamy flavors and a much more affordable price. And you can get 45 minutes of smoking time out of these little buggers!

ramon_cojones Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I went through a box of these awhile back and a good smooth change of pace cigar or something you can smoke all the time. I fear it doesn't have legs though for lack of complexity though it's not a boring smoke which is the worst for me. Profile is very unique I must say.

jedipastor Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I've only had one Robusto T, but I absolutely loved it. Like a spicy version of the Coloniales. Awesome cigar. It was probably a year old. Beat the pants off of any Cohiba I've ever had (with the possible exception of the BHK 52). I've heard from many that these are one of the best fresh CCs out there. I'm sure they still need 6-12 months, though.

Mate - I own the construction site, so I wear what I want when I want at the site... j/k... just passing by is all...they stopped working already...
