asmith Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Well according to a comment on one of our YouTube review. I received this information this morning on our review of the Montecristo Open which we all agree is a great cigar and a real highlight of Habanos SA... :rotfl: As NateG053 points out Rob and the rest of the idiots on Ken's deck have no idea about cigars, should never drink red wine with cigars and thinks that our abuse of this cigar is directed at the hard working farmer and not at the idiots who came up with the concept. But he did point out that Rob tossed his cigar half way through so hence the tosser call. Here is the link to YouTube enjoy the read boys. YouTube Link - Montecristo Open Master
CaptainQuintero Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 lol, maybe this calls for a new technique of *ahem* tossing a terrible. Maybe a small garden outside so they can be laid to rest in the soil in a place of dignity and serenity. Maybe start an 'Adopt an Unwanted Cigar' foundation

YouTube Link - Montecristo Open Master smithy, you are welcome to post this back on whatever site the gentleman is on. to the gentleman concerned, if he reads stuff on the forum, he would know that some of us are definitely of the view that red wine is very rarely a good match for a cigar, any cigar. so i am with him there. that said, we contravene that on numerous occasions, so guilty. but the opens are dire, awful cigars. smoke them in any order you like, pair them with whatever flicks your switch - and they are still dire cigars. not sure if the gentleman has read foh reviews or seen many vids but i think that there are more than enough that provide due respect to great cigars. the fact is that not every cigar rolled in cuba is a stellar cigar. there are many great ones, plenty of average ones and some dogs. it does no one any good to play the emperor's new clothes and pretend they are all great. if habanos want respect for the opens then they need to produce a better cigar. why respect something that, in our opinion, drags down the good name of habanos?
BobKincaid Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Jeebuss! Ol' Nate didn't so much review the review as pen a crushing brief against it. Methinks he has a bit too much time on his hands. Thank Dog he didn't watch Part III. He'd have had a baby over Ken's travails.
Scdalak Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I thought it was fat tosser? Better than being called a "Wanker"

kcheek Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I think NateG has some serious issues in life that he needs to work through.
Ken Gargett Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I think NateG has some serious issues in life that he needs to work through. that or a very large collection of monte opens.
kcheek Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 that or a very large collection of monte opens. That would certainly be an issue!
NitrousPurger Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 im sure the rollers pride themselves on the monte opens...
benjaminbbush Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 sorry if this is a separate rabbit trail but for those of us not from OZ what is the difference between a tosser and a wanker?
Ken Gargett Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 sorry if this is a separate rabbit trail but for those of us not from OZ what is the difference between a tosser and a wanker? not much. you really don't want to know either.
duwan Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Okay guys, I'm fairly new here, and before joining, I read the rules about being a tosser or a wanker. It was the first time I had ever seen those terms of endearment used. Now, I'm still not sure what either of those are, but I assume it's not a good thing. So, could someone please tell me exactly what a tosser and a wanker is?
mkz Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 So, could someone please tell me exactly what a tosser and a wanker is? The guy that wrote that comment on YouTube has all the signs of being a tosser/wanker... Edit... some links for educational purposes: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?...=A%20-%20Tosser http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanker

gigabyte056 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I must agree that red wine and cigars to me don't mix well,. That said, the open series is something I will not touch, Got gifted the Master back in Thailand by a client and smoked it in a club. The pairing was with green label JW and lot's of Thai women, enjoyed the scotch and the ladies (just looking no touching) but the cigar had no character and no complexity whatsoever just burnt hay , finished the cigar out of respect but then moved on to smoke an Edmundo, the client himself said the Edmundo was much better and he didn't know Cuban cigars had so much flavor on account of the open master. They look good in your hand and you can say you smoked a Cuban, that's about it...
benjaminbbush Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Please tell me Ken didn't serve a box wine. There is nothing wrong for a little Franzia or even Boone's Farm---if you are a college freshman!
Matt Day Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 i think itd be intresting to ask him to review the monte opens and see what he thinks thougth im guessing he is some one who smoeks alot of king edwards or hamlets
Maron76 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 At least he didn't call you a salad tosser! Here is a link to the Chris Rock skit on the "tossed salad man". LMAO http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=9a7_1266077288
Habanakane21 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 So El Presidente wacks off, according to the definition of the term "Tosser". I love the leadership here on FoH! I have trouble pairing wines with cigars. I like water, rum or scotch.
