I know in Los Angeles there are several soccer and volleyball leagues played by people of all ages.. But then you got all those Asian countries that play table tennis too... Basketball popularity is also picking up world wide... I was gonna say volleyball by I'll go with soccer (futbol)

thechenman Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I would say that running would be the most popular sport in the world. I don't see it as an option though. I would imagine more people engage in running than any other sport on a daily basis. Now if we are talking spectator sport, well then I have to defer to futbol, but that does not mean it should be the most popular spectator sport. All it means is that too many people in this world, just don't know any better. What should be the most popular spectator sport is AMerican football. Now we're talking...

Boring thing to watch but the atmosphere can be electric.... or in NASCAR's case... awesome tailgaiting. College Football is what I watch the most, not a fan of NFL. College football just kind of grows on you when you live in SE Nebraska all your life.

Funny no one came up with cycling! Which is a close second to my personal favorite of FootBall (preferably college or high school). Some great responses though, thanks for all the input.
