El Presidente Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I had this question today and wanted to get member feedback. 1. being strongest See if we can get some agreement on the following. These are not in order but align them as you see fit. If you feel two or more cigars are generally of the same strength, put them in the same line /number them the same. Partagas SD4 Cohiba Robusto Bolivar Royal Corona R&J Short Churchill Trinidad Robusto T Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure Number 2 Ramon Allones Specially Select Juan Lopez Selection Number two

headstand Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 A very useful post Rob. Thanks. Not too surprisingly, the first criteria for cigars in my humidor is that I enjoy smoking them. After that, it's getting a fair representation of the various vitolas. This post gives me a chance to go the next step and include various strengths options for each vitola. Perfect. The Robustos I have had: PSD4 Boli RC RASS CoRo HDME2 Which three are going in the humi? PSD4 , CoRo , HDME2. Cheers

But in general RASS D4 J Lo 2 BUT ONLY 2008 production and later BRC Epi 2 for the first two years, then a drop off in strength Coro (older 90s production would probably be 3) Trinidad RyJ

jedipastor Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 By "strength" I assume you mean nicotene content, as opposed to the "body" of the smoke?
Scdalak Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Define "strong". Most likely to make one nauseous, high, edgy? I always have difficulty trying to differentiate strong vs. Full body.
El Presidente Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 By "strength" I assume you mean nicotene content, as opposed to the "body" of the smoke? Do an exercise for me.....on a personal scale, rate them both ways and see how your list differs. I as not referring specifically to Nicotine but rather Ligero.
El Presidente Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 Define "strong". Most likely to make one nauseous, high, edgy? I always have difficulty trying to differentiate strong vs. Full body. To me, strength is intensity on the palate. it doesn't have to make one edgy of sick!LOL! I have had plenty of Nic cigars which are brutally strong but "thin" in body (weight, mouthfeel etc). You can have strong/light bodied cigars.
