Sutton Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Well with all the talk about the new Hupman & the fast world we live in , there is more a more talk about "fast" smoking & having time to enjoy a cigar. Im just putting this little survey to see what kind of time people spend on a average cigar. I know im going to get flak over picking a robusto but that seems to be a norm to cigars.(to this greenhorn) So how long does it take you to smoke a robusto ?
kcheek Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 About 3 rum and cokes. Seriously, I'd say about an hour to an hour and a half for me.
Habanakane21 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 sorta depends what I'm doing and the weather. But I'd say for a robusto, maybe 45 min max
Sutton Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 3 talls or 3 short yeah im probably a 3 glass short with a robusto
CanuckSARTech Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 For a robusto, depending on how it's smoking, generally right around an hour, with a 15-minute plus-or-minus variance to either side (as quick as 45 mins., or as long as 1-hr and 15 mins.)
CohibaBehike Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 hour to an hour 15, if the cigar is extremely good and I nub it than I may pass an hour and 15, but very rarely. A good idea would be to see the average amount of "draws" a person were to take in a robusto, now I know that each person draws differently, but it would be interesting to find an average.
MrGlass Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Hour plus for me. I like to take these things slow.
soltino Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 About an hour and a half.... not rushing, just enjoying
dicko Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 between 45 mins and an hour. funny because a petit corona normally takes the same for me. i just smoke them slower.
OZCUBAN Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 About 1 hour to 45mins for me or a minute and a half if plugged
tsolomon Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Depends on the draw, but I'm for 60+ minutes for most robustos.
Cohiba007 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 45-1 hour for me. I smoke too fast though. Can't help it sometimes
ksblazer Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 a Robusto usually lasts me a good 50-55min so I voted 1hr since that was the closest.
Whodat Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I usually take more than an hour. I just like to take my time with a good cigar.
SCgarman Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 A hard packed cigar like a BRC will usually take me about an hour and 20 minutes while a lighter packed cigar like the RASS will be just under an hour. The RASS weighs less than the BRC and it burns much quicker too. JMO
jedipastor Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 It totally depends on the cigar. Some cigar burn much more slowly that others (Liga Privada T52, Padilla Dominus, etc burn very slowly). The typical robusto takes me about an hour or slightly longer. Even with habanos it varies. A Boli RC takes well over an hour, whereas yesterday's Cohiba Robusto '05 was just shy of one hour (a very fun hour, at that!).
gsmoke Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 between 45 mins and an hour. funny because a petit corona normally takes the same for me. i just smoke them slower. Pretty much the same experience for me. I wonder if the smaller ring gauge of the PC makes us treat them a little more gently? I just know that if I draw off a PC the same way I do a robusto it gets bitter pretty quickly.
tmac77 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 An indoor nicely constructed robusto for me will be right around an hour long smoke +/- 10 min. Outdoors on a windy day on the golf course however can be as short as 30 min.
IcedCanuck Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 About 45 minutes to an hour on average. I have had some slightly plugged and very tightly rolled Robustos that have taken over an hour. If the wind is blowing real it take's less than 45 minutes though.
