clavettm Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 In Québec City there is the Société Cigare located in the same building as the Maurice nightclub. In Montreal, places to smoke cigars include the LCDH, the Whisky Café and the Stogies bars as well as the Queue de Cheval and Rib'n Reef restaurants. In the Ottawa area, you'll find the Bacchus cigar lounge located in the Hilton Lac-Leamy and casino in Gatineau. Mike
kiwiman911 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Hi all I hear a lot of good things from Bacchus at the Hilton and go to stogies very often(some people don't like the music ) the whisky cafe has been banned for me ( the cutting is crazy and theyre $ for CC also) the casa is nice but you have to buy...it's always a good excuse to get new cigars
anthem Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 The Bacchus @ the Hilton is very nice, I've been there a few times to meet up with some BOTL from the Ottawa area. I also enjoy going to Stogies (no cutting fee), the music doesn't bother me and gives me an excuse to go to Montreal
headstand Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Not only does Quebec have the best selection of French wines in the country, I am now to understand that you also have the freedom to enjoy your cigars indoor!? Alright. That is it. I'm packing up and moving to La Belle Province... Enjoy.
zathan Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I agree that Bacchus is very nice. When I work in the area, I stop there every night. I also like Societe cigar very much. It's very calm and quiet. A very relaxing way to end the day. Whiskey is just expensive. I have yet to smoke at LCDH and stogies well, you have to go early enough, before they turn on the disco light and dance music.
riazp Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 i'll usually hit stogies, not to far from my place, music is a bit loud...but hey small price to pay to be able to smoke somewhere warm winter time hehe...good selection of drinks too

maverickdrinker Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 another vote for stogies. Wifi, the opportunity to smoke, no cutting fee and a good selection of drinks to choose from. great place to get some work done while enjoying a cigar. Always visit when I am in MTL.
Boss Hog Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Bacchus lounge is definitely a great place to enjoy a fine cigar. Although, it does fill up fairly quick.
riazp Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Boss Hog, how big is bacchus? i hear its pretty small...
Puros Y Vino Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Here's a link to the lounge. Address: Hilton Lac-Leamy 3, Boulevard du Casino, Gatineau-Ottawa, Quebec, Canada J8Y 6X4 Tel: 1-819-790-6444 Fax: 1-819-790-6408 From the photos it looks pretty roomy.
Boss Hog Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Boss Hog, how big is bacchus? i hear its pretty small... It is quite small. Although very nice. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the pictures on their website make the place seem so much larger than it truly is.
Puros Y Vino Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Then Stogies it is for your herf Riaz?
riazp Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Yeah Frank, stogies it is if we can get a group of 20 or more to have the upstairs room reserved for ourselfs
cigarconnoisseur Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I live in Ottawa and frequent Bacchus quite often. I will be blunt when it comes to the review: Positives: - Enjoyable - Great atmosphere - Very "manly" - Cigars aren't overpriced - No cutting fee Negatives: - Service is inconsistent - Drinks are overpriced - Small If you would like to go and have any more questions I will be more than happy to answer in more detail. Also, if you live in the area and are looking for someone to enjoy a cigar with I wouldn't mind accompanying. Add me as a friend or PM me. Talk to you all soon,
riazp Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I think i'll do a little summary of the 3 main cigar locations in montreal La Casa Del Habano Montreal (on sherbrooke st corner of bishop) Likes : Friendly staff, best selection of cigars in montreal, best cuban coffee and mojito in montreal, best smoking lounge in montreal Dislikes : you must buy a cigar from the walk in to be able to smoke there, you cannot smoke your own. prices vary from 10.50$ for a upmann Half corona to 150$ for a Monte 2 GR... Conclusion, this place is a must see when you come to montreal. expect to spend around 50-60$ for a decent cigar and a couple of mojitos and a coffee. A great place to spend a few hours. Stogies Cigar Bar (on cresent corner de maisoneuve)¸ Likes : Great drink menu, very friendly staff, exellent service, you can smoke your own cigars, no cut fee, 1 drink minimum. Dislikes : music can be a bit loud on friday and saturday nights after 10 pm, and can get smoky inside if its a busy night. Conclusion : Basically this is my home away from home. I try to avoid it on fridays and saturdays for the reasons mentioned above, but in general its a great place to sit down, have a few cigars and a few drinks. Whisky Cafe (st-laurent st) Likes : Good drink menu, well ventilated smoking area Dislikes : service not very good, 10$ cut fee per cigar you smoke, very small smoking area Conclusion : I personally will not be returning here again due to the dislikes. One thing I cannot stand in the service industry is bad service. plus the cut fee is a killer as well. I hope this little write up will help my fellow botl's who come to visit montreal
jrb5783 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I was in Quebec right after years. I went into Societe Cigare every night i thoroughly enjoyed it. Expensive but i expected that. Any other good shops in quebec city?
Ophidion Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I have only been to Montreal once (a few weeks back) but I can say that Stogies was my favorite place to go only because you can bring your own cigars and it was much brighter than the LHDC. Granted, I didn't bring any cigars with me, so I ended up buying them at the LHDC, but the atmosphere at stogies was more enjoyable in my opinion. The LHDC itself was very nice and much calmer and "warmer" than stogies, but I would say stogies was more enjoyable. I ate at Queue de Cheval but I didn't make it to the cigar lounge... too much steak = nap time.

There's a couple of small corner stores here and there but nothing major. I live in Québec for 25 years and spent every friday night I had at Societé Cigare. Now, I' m at Stogies in Montreal.
