OZCUBAN
Hi All. Here is something i received the other day ,thought especially in todays world this is something very special enjoy and thanks for reading Cheers OZ The Morgan Motor Company located in Britain doesn't change in a changing world. Not only is it still independent, but it also makes each car by hand. A base model is about $44,000, with some cars costing up to $300,000. People wait for over a year to get their exclusive hand-built cars with the shell made out of metal and much of the vehicle made out of wood. Working on the wood interior, workers use metal shears to individually shape a hood because each car has to be different. Every year Morgan produces about 600 cars. The company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2011. It has a long and interesting history, and is still run by the same family: the Morgans. Founded by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan known as 'HFS', it was then run by his son Peter, and is now run by Charles, the son of Peter Morgan. There are craftsmen and there are Craftsmen!! Stalebread
There are craftsmen and there are Craftsmen!! I'll say! I like the 6th photo where it looks like the worker is shaping a support with a spokeshave. A spokeshave no less. To make a car. Here's to all the craftsmen (and women) out there! Here's to all the craftsmen (and women) out there! I noticed that too! I'm a carpenter, but it has been a long time since I used a spokeshave! Great post. I sometimes see these around London,in the posh parts.I always stop for a look! In these times when it feels like Britain makes nowt anymore(well,we don't) it's nice to see we still have some things like this. Reminds me of the G wagon factory in Austria. Nice to see these skills, wherever they are.

Warren
A friend of mine had a black Morgan Plus 8. He said it wasn't the best car on the twisty bits but there wasn't much that could beat it in a straight line.
