Omskakas Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 This is again a fun competition with only glory and recognition for the winners. Can you identify four cigar bands that are lying in my ashtray? Two of them are easy, one is hard and one is almost impossible. The picture: [Might open a NSFW popup if you open the pic. Nothing too bad, though.] (it had to be hosted at imagevenue because the pic is large) Try to identify the cigars first, then scroll down for reply. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Wicky Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Upmann,Cohiba,Punch,Partagas. Sorry Lax. Didnt see ya.

Omskakas Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Cohiba, H Upmann, Punch, Partagas? Correct! You win teh internets! The hardest was Punch (upper left) because Bolivar and LGC has the same (or almost) pattern with two gold medals and vertical red/white lines. laficion and Wicky got it correct too.
sosamscott Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Awesome! I figured Punch because of the rounded edge... the others although one has rounded corners have straight cut edges. Nice going to laficion and Wicky as well!

Hi Omskakas, You are right about the Punch and Bolivar, but if you look closer, you will see that there is a differences. For Punch, the red lines going up and down on the left side and right side , are of a draker shade of red then on the Bolivar, and don't always meet perfectly with the gold frame surounding the medals as on the Bolivar.
Omskakas Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 ^I had to check. There are some differences when you look up close. But from the ashtray picture I can't make any. I must be blind. From left to right: LGC, Punch, Bolivar
B.HOBS Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Man, I've never noticed how similar those three marca's bands were....I thought for sure Bolivar! Thanks for the fun Omskakas!!
