El Presidente Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Enjoying one with my morning coffee. Had two yesterday afternoon after speaking with a fellow Forum member on how the current stocks were. Bloody excellent! Sweetness is there with that lovely core of toasted tobacco. Medium bodied. I am wondering to myself if they are the best PC currently being made.

I haven't got the cab with me but less than 12 months.
mkz Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I love the PLPC! Always enjoyable! Too bad they only come in cabs of 50. If available in cabs of 25 I think more people would buy (and enjoy) them.

Isn't it great to be in love I am a fan of the PC. Between the PLPC and Siglo II of recent production I've been more than satisfied. Although I could smoke more of the PL as my palette needs breaks from the other. Every time I hop on the board I end up getting an itch to smoke whatever's in discussion. Here we go again! And this was SUPPOSE to be night off.
KWG116 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Have to agree PLPC's are awesome. Had a few from an 07 cab that were amazing. Recently purchased a 2010 cab. Was so excited when they arrived I smoked two that weekend. They were terrible, thought I got a bad batch. Waited about one month and smoked one with a friend and much better. The rest are deep in the humidor. I'm a big PC smoker.PC's are a great way to build a nice collection and not spend tons of money. BPC's are fantastic right now. Big fan of RG pc's too. But everyone should have a cab of PLPC's. Especially for the price of a cab these days. Thank you Kwg116.
hansa Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 This is the best PC for me ! When you got a nice cabinet, nothing beats this cigar with your well deserved morning coffee... That reminds me, my cabinet is almost empty... need...to...order...new...
bolivr Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Cigcars had them as her September standout cigar.I had to agree. Haven't regretted making the commitment to the 50 cab.
Loki Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I have been burning through a cab from 08. They are simply delicious.
hddeucebrad01 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Have not tried these but love the size...will be my next purchase
FireDigger Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I love the PLPC! Always enjoyable!Too bad they only come in cabs of 50. If available in cabs of 25 I think more people would buy (and enjoy) them. I have not bought a cab of PLPCs, yet, but the fact they only come in a cab is not a deterring factor for me since they're priced about the same as, say, a box of pyramides.
smokem Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 One of my favs. I'm currently rotating through 06, 07, 08 stock. The price is fantastic. Last cab I purchased was about $100 cheaper than the first one.
PigFish Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 The price on these has gone down, which is a good thing. I remember when they were re-released I split my first cab (of the re-release), I think from NZ and it was about $350. This is pound for pound a great cigar and I too smoke the **** out of them, I used to smoke almost 3 cabs a year but have cut my smoking overall by about a factor of 5. I have never thought that they were as good as before they were cancelled, but perhaps that is romanticism talking. I do think the '04 are better than the '07 and '08's but again that could be relative to age and not tobacco or blending. Of all the blundering misstates that H SA et al makes, reintroducing this cigar is the bellwether counter trend. -Piggy
bassman Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I want to like these, but I've smoked a bunch of 04s & 05 and they fall in the "good but not great" catagory. I'd take a Boli PC over the PL any day. But that's just my particular taste.
Van55 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I'd put them up there among the top Petit Coronas in regular production. However, my own experience is that they are quite unruly and harsh when young. I didn't think my MAR04 cab was ready to smoke until about 2008, and I have still smoked just a few of them. Those from more recent vintages have been almost unpleasant when young. 2006's have now evolved to show the smooth, sweet caramel flavors that are typical of these.
armedak Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 For me it is a toss-up between the Bolivar PC and the PLPC for the title of the best PC in regular production. However, due to the recent excellent pricing of PLPC cabs I've been buying them over the BPC cabs. I also find the PLPC to need some age to smooth out the harshness and rough edges of youth. Give them 5 years and they really start to shine. At the current pricing you really can't go wrong with PLPC cabs.

Best smoking pleasure and value.
LeafLover Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Just smoked one from a PLPC box that will have a second birthday in November. The smell in the box is intoxicating! Before this, I smoked my last PLPC about 1-2 months ago roughly. It has got even better. Love the PLPC. Is it the best? Hmmm, tough to give them this spot when the Boli PC's are smoking so well- 08's, 09's, and 10's.
Tony12 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I got a 50 cab of these back during the summer and split it with a friend. I have been kicking myself ever since I smoked the first one. Thought I might get lucky, and he wouldn't like them. No such luck. Great cigar!
Jesuscookies Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I had to bump this thread. I have been through about 4 or 5 of these this week. And 3 or 4 cabs over the last year. This CC is without a doubt one of the most consistent cigars coming out of Cuba period! Deliciously smooth, with complex hints of cedar, carmel, and tobacco. I just love this smoke! If you have not indulged, put it on your list. Enjoying one with my morning coffee. Had two yesterday afternoon after speaking with a fellow Forum member on how the current stocks were. Laxman Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Great cigar have a few cabs stashed away. Had never been much into PC's but this cigar and the Bolivar PC have renew my interest. Boli is my favorite but the PLPC is not far off.
investandprosper Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I have to agree with Lax, if I'm having a PC I'd reach for a Boli over the PL. Maybe I just never had one of the good ones.
ChanceSchmerr Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 It's the only cigar my non-smoking fiancee will smoke......'nuff said! Fantastic PC!
SteveGriff Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 One of my favourite PC's along with the Bolivar PC. Two totally different smokes, if you can hold off and age the Por Larranaga for a few years you'll be handsomely rewarded. Steve
