JasonInChiTown Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I have a few boxes from Factory code TEB [all random purchases] PSP2 MAR 08 BRC JUN 08 RA Estupendos OCT 07 Partagas Connie 3 NOV 07 All are amazing, and the best rolled cigars I've had - perfect draw and construction. This perhaps has been discussed before, but is this generally the highest profiled factory in Cuba ? Anyone with similar experiences? Thanks! Jason
investandprosper Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I believe that the factory codes change quite frequently and that no one but HSA officials know which code corresponds to which factory at any given time.
brutusthebuckeye Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I have good luck with TEB(Rass,Brc etc..)...not sure if it is the Partagas factory
CigarmanTim Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I buy a lot of TEB. I have been told that it is the Partagas factory code for '08 and thaT LRE is the partagas factory code for '09. No hard facts. Teb and LRE's both perform
CBL Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 For the past couple of months I have also noticed that TEB is a magical boxcode that makes all your cigar dreams come true! I've discussed this with members of a Dutch forum and they all agreed that TEB have some of the best cigars made in recent years. I've had a box of TEB 08 RASCC that contained the darkest and oliest wrappers I've seen second to only the JUN 08 Monty Sublimes. I recently ordered another box of TEB 08 RASCC hoping that they might deliver the same magic as the ones before. I also have a box of RE Bolivars with a TEB NOV 07 code, no idea how they'll turn out but I'm hoping on another winner!
anacostiakat Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Just checked my stock and have a good number of that factory code. We'll see if they live up. LRE not so much.
mykeuva Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Just checked my stock and have a good number of that factory code. We'll see if they live up. LRE not so much. I just got a box of Bolivar PCs with the LRE code, and so far, they've been fantastic. Great aroma, great taste....
ColKurtz Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 In my limited experience TEB is outstanding, as well as POS (really)!
onemoretime Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I dont know ....mayby I am just a lucky guy but I have had the most unbelievable and delicious smokes with the codes: FTU STS ETE I have recently been able to detemine what these factory codes represent......... Fire Them Up Smoke Them Slowly Enjoy Them Emensly
gsmoke Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I have limited experience compared to some, but I have had boxes of Lusitania, Estupendo, RASS, and Boli PC with TEB codes. Loved them all. Not scientific, but neither are cigars. I'll keep trying them till I get burned (so to speak). These have just been pretty consistent for my money.
88keys Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I have TEB Feb 08 Siglo VI which seem excellent so far, but I've never had bad ones with any code. I had TEB Jul 07 BBF (gone already!) which were fantastic. Just last week I received La Gloria Medaille #2 TEB Jul 07. Of course I observe the 30 day rule, except when I don't. I tried one right out of the package. Fantastic again.
KWG116 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I guess the secret is out. I have been chasing TEB's for awhile now. I have a cab of Bolivar PC's that are amazing. Thats what started it. I have since purchased a lot of RASS (not really that big of a fan, but with the TEB codes I feel like I am starting to understand the hype of RASS) RASCC (received a slightly moldy box, not from Czar, and vendor did not want to replace. Wiped them off and store them seperate from the rest of my cigars and they are outstanding)RAG and a few others. I think 08 TEB's are going to become classics. I wonder if they just had great raw materials in the factory. Probably just luck of the draw. Thank you kwg116
JasonInChiTown Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 I buy into Ken's theory that it would amazing if each roller had a specific number and was noted on the box. Imagine the possibilities.
Omskakas Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I just got a box of Bolivar PCs with the LRE code, and so far, they've been fantastic. Great aroma, great taste.... Me too from ENE10.
El Presidente Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 07/08 TEB have been above average. Same for ESE, MOA, MEL, Poor boxes in each code as well.
LeafLover Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 A number of my stock are from the TEB factory. I think that's where the nubile virgin rollers work. I swear I thought a Boli PC had a Victoria Secret smell at cold.
Dbone Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 From my experience I have a box of BRC TEB JUN 08 and cab of BPC TEB MAR 08, both are above average. Also as mentioned, i have sampled my LRE MAR 09 BRC even better.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 A number of my stock are from the TEB factory. I think that's where the nubile virgin rollers work. I swear I thought a Boli PC had a Victoria Secret smell at cold. Oh gawd. I don't even want to KNOW what the scent profile of that one is!!!! Let's go with a KG classic - "stonefruit" - and leave it at that!
CigarmanTim Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 LRE not so much. Give them a chance Jim...a year or so
CigarmanTim Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I've got a box of very mediocre 07 TEB BBFs. --sam Sam, went through 2 boxes of BBF's from 07...not sure of code. Horrible. I'll not buy another from any year
android Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I agree, seems that TEB is a above average code for Habanos.
sam Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Sam, went through 2 boxes of BBF's from 07...not sure of code. Horrible. I'll not buy another from any year I was beginning to wonder if I was the only cc fan that couldn't get some BBFs that live up to all the great reviews. I really like Bolivars overall, but have never had a BBF that is nearly as good as the RCs, PCs and CJrs that I regularly smoke. But unlike you, and perhaps foolishly, I expect to keep trying on the BBFs. ---sam
bassman Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 LRE Bolivar PCs from 09 have been fantastic. As for TEB, I seem to have a lot of 07 &08 boxes with that code. From sampling I'd say results vary. Some excellent, some just OK. I have heard but have no way of confirming, that MEL was the 08 code for the El Laguito factory.
