El Presidente Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Entertainment Weekly Cannes Film Festival 2010 "HSA Gigantor Productions" this week released the killer movie of the festival in "The Expendables" The movie stars a rag tag band of once great warriors named Sancho, Gonzalez, Mundo, Ramon, Diplomatico and the beautiful but deadly "Gloria" sent on one last suicide mission in the hope they fail and never come back. The tale is told through the eyes of embedded alcoholic journalist "Ken Gargett" who the details their desperate plight without any form of headquarter support whatsoever. Some excellent performances by resistance force commando's "Frenchy" (Guy) "Angry Ant" (Ray) and "Pecs" (Colt) who do their utmost to save the motley band against the Ninja Assassins (Code name ROI) sent to destroy them. The film suffers at times by the one sided love story of Ken trying to woo Gloria. The fridge scene simply leaves most viewers confused. Ray as "Angry Ant" has one too many speaches against the establishment and it is difficult to take him seriously with his sidekick "Snookums"...a supposedly killer Bichon Frise. "Frenchy" played by Guy is a revelation. He appears well suited to the role of the hard drinking hard loving wild man with a penchant for yelling "retreat" at the first sign of action. "Pecs" played by Colt has obviously spent a lifetime by the watercooler but his incessant pec flexing in each scene is overdone. All in all ****
OZCUBAN Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Would love to see that on film has to have a sex though OZ
CanuckSARTech Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Oh Colt - I told you not to overdo it buddy! You can't upstage Ken! LOL.
laficion Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 From the Cannes Film Festival, Ladies, Gentlemen and Children, It was indeed unfortunate that not all of the Great Warriors survived at the end of this thrilling and epic adventure film. But yes, I would like to take this opportunity to thank, HSA Gigantor Productions and its Director for not choosing the easiest scenario thus allowing some great talents to be revealed under the limelights. Yes, new stars such as, Colt, who aside his role, was great at moderating the acting crew. Ray, for not being too conventional in his playing. And Ken, for warming up Gloria, thank you, we are both living a wounderful, Hummm,I mean wonderful, sexual affair. oOUPPS, Anyway !!! Finally , I would like to thank the jury of this years Cannes Film Festival for awarding me with the " Palme d'Or" Thank you and good night Guy------ (Frenchy)
