A regular columnist had this to say in a local paper:

"As the World Cup gets to its sharp end and England exited as expected - with another gutless display - we can catch up on some sleep and get some respite from those damned vuvuzelas. I heard a chilling report this week that an outfit in China is churning these wretched things out by the million, with many of them in readiness for next year's Rugby World Cup. If this is so, the World Cup authorities have to act now and ban these things. They are an abomination and have no place in sports grounds. Imagine paying huge bucks to see a game and have some clown tooting one in your ear. The resultant outcome would spark a new phenomenon - vuvuzela rage, which would make road rage look like a Sunday school picnic."

They have already announced a ban in the SEC for college football this year.
