Nice barbeque with my wife on the deck this thursday evening which by me, off course was ended with a pair of nice smokes...

First I fired up one of my new favourites: H.Upmann Magnum 46. A superb cigar with tons of complexity. Oily and with heavy aroma. However this specimen was clearly underfilled which only made it last for 30 minutes. Very tasty, but a corona gorda shouldnt be this quick (yes I smoked slowly).

Next up was a Cohiba Siglo I (tubo). This was an impeccable specimen: Perfect construction, oily as the gulf of mexico and with a perfect draw. A superb smoke with honey, grass and cream. I expected a quick smoke, but this small Perla lasted for 45 minutes with an razorshap burn all the way down to the nub.

Conclusion: Size doesnt always matter when it comes to smoking time. :buddies:

Just my thoughts...

Mag 46 and then a Sig I...Damn that's a combo! I gotta say, I love the half coronas...and an "on" Siglo I is off the charts. I think I am going to have to try some Tubos for fun.

Thanks for sharing...

You are spot on :D

For some reason I can get 45 minutes out of a half corona and 1 hour out of a Robusto. For some reason I must subconsciously smoke a half corona slower.

I've found this too. I've had petit coronas last an hour and robustos 45 mins. Had a churchill for 1 1/2 hours and 2 1/2 hours. Must be a combination of construction (filling), the burning properties of the leaf, and as Rob suggests smoking method.

I also love the cohiba siglo 1's !! :D

You're corect Ayala, I think you would tend to take less puffs on a small cigar.
