Your thoughts on the new Behikes a 2010 LE's?

Smithy and I did a video review of the Montecristo Grand Edmundo 2010 LE's yesterday. Will have the review posted tomorrow.

For those that have had a chance to try the new Behike's or 2010 Limited Editions....what are your thoughts?

My sentiments exactly both the LE's are up my ally as to speak the Behikes are probably a bit steep but will try and see what the fuss is about ,then maybe i will change my opinion

I tried the 56 on Saturday. Very smooth and creamy from the get go, typical Cohiba beany/vanilla nuances. Flavors stayed pretty much the same throughout..... Good but the same. The media tempo did not make a big difference in the flavor to me over other aged Cohibas I have had.

A very nice cigar no doubt but it does not live up to the hype for me. Worth the money? definately not. Glad to have some more but wont be chasing more of them. The Grand Reservas are a much better classier cigar which they should be given price difference.

Score another one for the HSA marketing machine.

As a comparisson I had an 08 Upmann Mag 50 later that day and it was fantastic and more complex and enjoyable than the BHK and at a fraction of the price. I think the Mag 50's are one of the best QPR cuban cigars on the market FWIW.

Back to the topic, Have not smoked any, but would like the chance to sample first. Really interested in a Mix/Match for these Prez!

As of now, none for me. Too much reg production stuff catching my eye. Behikes do not really interest me at the current price.

Can't afford the Cohibas & have lost interest in ELs. Didn't get any 09s & don't think I'll get this year's either. Too many have a common "EL flavor".

I love the Grand Reserves (Cohibas), when it comes to the behikes I am definitely looking forward to trying them but from what I am hearing that are not living up to the hype. As far as the EL's go I have a 10 pack of the partagas coming and not sure on the Edmundos. I only tried two Edmundo's and was not impressed. I have tried one Mag 50 and it was tasteless, but I keep hearing such good reviews I am going to have to revisit them!

I smoked a BHK54 last night and thought it was excellent. It was very rich and strong. A very unique Cohiba. Kinda had me spinning but I don't smoke many fresh cigars these days.

I was againts the buyiong of the Behikes. Now thinking twice about it, but for the $ that they demand,I wouldnt or wont accept andy "duds". When spending $30+ on a cigar, I feel it should be nothing short of excellance

I received a box of Partagas from a trusted Canadian source a week ago; the quality control is suspect at best. The leaflet states 'no more than two year', the sticks look like they were wrapped by a 3rd-grader, and the wooden sheet smells and looks like pine... Fortunately, some of the best sticks I've had in terms of flavour were ugly as sin. I'll update after I light one up.

My 56 arrived today and I'm finishing one as I type. Usually never ever do that, but on a rainy day with a ton of work, I said "why not?'

The presentation is awesome. Kinda mini-GR with the laquer and velvet pouch. I took the plastic tape stuff off because I think there is a smell there that may transfer.

Huge cigar. Almost uncomfortably so, but I managed. Familiar taste. It reminds me of a stronger version of the Book/Sublime Extra. Definitely will sit these and subsequent purchases, but they're certainly not bad right at this minute. Great draw. Flaky ash though, which a buddy of mine would say means the leaf is underfermented; another reason to sit them for a bit. But when you're smoking a MAR10, you can't complain about that I guess. Burn is a little uneven. Had to correct it twice with the lighter. Probably user error in not letting them sit for a while post-transit.

Tastes good though. Definitely young, but has potential. It's not in CGR class, but a nice cigar. Very Cohiba. And very strong. The nicotine definitely hits you in the head, but it doesn't come off heavy on the palate at all. All comments are qualified by the fact that it's just this one cigar smoked breaking all of the usual smoking rules for Cuban cigars, but I suspect that when it grows up a little bit, it will be a really good one to have around.

Given the price, the value question is up to the smoker, of course. And again, you can't really make a call until after you smoke a couple, because this particular one could be the best or the worst of the batch, but it has the makings. For me, I'm definitely getting more based on potential.

Smoked another one about a week later. Liked it slightly less, but it was still fine. There was some messiness with the ash, and uneven burning this time as well, but again, not the cigar's fault.

If I was offering you the choice of one free Behike OR two free "anything else" (regular production cigars) - which would you choose?

In 1-2 years it will already be very very ready. The nature of the blend seemed leaning towards the mellow and aromatic side more then toward strength. Very interesting smoke.

There are people who only smoke Cohiba. I know many who love that flavour profile more than anything else.

I have members who are clients who smoke Cohiba Gran Reserva's as their daily smoke. They don't tell anybody...but they do.

I have a client who only smokes R&J Churchills and believes everything else is garbage. Another who thinks Jose Piedra Cazadores is the holy grail.

Who is right and who is wrong? Why are we even asking the question?

If you like it and you can afford it then good luck to you. I won't be telling anyone their JP Cazadores is inferior to anothers CGR because to that individual who adores JPC....they are the pinnacle of Cuban cigars.
