-Very dark Maduro wrapper, well constructed, cut the tip at an angle like I do with all Piramides/Belis, fine-gritty-oily wrapper

-Pre draw is pure barnyard

-Lemon-pepper cake, chewy leather opening

-These are in my Top 5 cigars of all time

-Mild-Medium start

-Initial puffs are shortbread, light pepper, citrus

-So far, a soft, gentile smoke with sugar cookie rounded out by some lovely spice and tangerine zest

-Medium at the end of the 1/3

-It’s crazy, I have smoked lots of these cigars and I always pick up something new every time

-First Cohiba Piramides I can remember being this sweet so early on, a real treat

-Start of the 2/3 is Vanilla beans, simple syrup and continued citrus

-Ash is nice, tight layered log, almost like stacked pancakes

-More sweet leather, chewy aftertaste, long on the throat, tremendous!

-Grass comes around in minimal amounts in the 2/3

-Last 1/3 is pepper, grass and citrus with only a hint of the vanilla beans hanging around

-Enjoyed every moment spent with this smoke

-9.2/10

You can nearly see the flavours in this cigar by looking at the wrapper. Unbelievably dark, not much different to alot of the NC wrappers out there.

Sounds like the cigar was just what everyone expects from this gem, it is indeed one of the greats. Will be interesting to see if more of the flavours from the first couple of thirds progress into the final third with a bit more age. To see strong lashes of vanilla bean and sugar cane all the way through to the nub would push this up near 94-95 I would assume.

Good points but I have not smoked a 94-95 cigar in my lifetime yet, but this cigar is all time top 7 for me, if not higher

As always, great review Bart!

Agree with you that I would also put this cigar in my top 5. Smoked my last one a few months back and it was simply outstanding. Have them buried in one of my Boxes so I am not tempted to indulge.

How about a review on the Piramides EL 2009, too? I hear that the glass top and green wrapper adds to the flavor!

Thanks for the review, Bart.

Great review Bart...I'm envious...

I have smoked two of these from different boxes and I must say, I don't get it. I'm probably in the minority but there have been numerous Regionals and other Limitadas that I've enjoyed much more than this cigar. Nice review Bart anyway Bart. :loser:

You are not alone. I've smoked two from my box and neither have been anything to write home about. It's been just over a year since my last,

so perhaps I'm due to try another soon. Honestly though, I wish I'd put the money toward a box of the robusto, or Upmann Sir Winston, or any

number of cigars for that matter.

We shall see.

I third the comment. I also have a few left from a box and will try again once the weather turns.

Well I'll be the 4th to say that my box has under preformed to this point. I have smoked 2 so far, the last being about 6 months ago, and while it was better the the first I smoked, it didn't come close a to any number of other habanos cigars I have enjoyed.
