  1. Most boxes of Monte 2's
  2. I like diet Dr. Pepper. It isn't supposed to be a cherry coke, it is its own drink. It is sweet, vaguely fruit like, and was a flavor of my childhood.
  3. 2010 and 11 smoked beautifully fresh, better than the 08's I had last year.
  4. Dunhill Estupendos - trying to get this cigar for my dissertation defense.
  5. 70's Corona from Honduras, 98 SLR lonsdales
  6. At this point I'm at about 300 CC. I buy what I like and smoke them for my strategy.
  7. SLR Pacifico is heads above the others, but the RACF was also a solid stick.
  8. You describe the Sir Winston and Esplendido profiles perfectly. $1000 will get you a box of both.
  9. Churchills doesn't have a cutting fee, and their bar prices are reasonable but their humidor is atrocious. Always bring your own. Cigar Masters has a cutting fee, and their server staff are hired based on their ability to look good in a little black dress. Their humidor selection is solid for NC stock. They almost always have very top shelf product from Davidoff and Padron. Stagni has a mediocre selection, and a cutting fee, and it is kind of a pain to get to.
  10. SLRs with TEB have been grand.
  11. Some are great fresh to a year, some don't benefit from the long haul.
  12. Agreed, the Pacificos is a wonderful cigar.
  13. I've had a couple of '08s, and a couple of '10s. Truth be told I like the 4's better, even though I like the cg vitola more.
  14. Woodford Reserve is solid. Try Four Roses, it is a budget bourbon masterpiece.
  15. My condolences. The dog I had growing up was a Chesapeake, and was the most brilliant but untrainable dog I've ever known.
  16. New York has Finger Lakes Wine slushies that are wonderful.
  17. The anticipation is brutal! A lot of folks had unfortunate cigars and the draw on mine wasn't all that good, so it is much more up in the open as to what it could be. My money is on Michel getting it right and going 3-3.
  18. Do you really like them more than Pacificos?
  19. Take a look at illusione as a brand, they make good cigars.
  20. Batting 3 for 3 on being the first reviewer. This churchill had a colorado claro wrapper, and a tight pre-light draw. I clipped deeper, but the draw was still quite firm. There was no distinguishable prelight draw flavor, and the scent of the cigar was almost nonexistent. The initial flavors were sweet, almost like toasted marshmallow and graham crackers. The flavor and body were very mild, and I had to work to get flavors from the cigar. Getting into the second third, cocoa would linger on the finish, and I had the feeling like smoking this cigar was like eating a smore with the burn marshmallow, graham, and chocolate flavors coming together. The cigar was still very mild. In the final third the cigar had some sour cream notes, but still the sweetness, graham, and lingering cocoa. While the flavor had built, the cigar still was very much in the mild range of the spectrum. The cigar made me annoyed. The flavors were wonderful, but they needed to be amped a bit more for me to consider the cigar box worthy. I don't mind a mild petite corona, since an hour of mild is fine, but two hours of having to hunt for flavor makes me bored.
  21. Wow, mine tasted nothing like my box of 2011 SLR A's. There was no fruit at all, and plenty of wood which I never get in my SLRs. Grats to Michel, if you have cigar #3 you are the winner!
