truly, there has never ever been anything dumber. ever. think of the dumbest thing you have ever heard of and it looks like einstein at his best compared with this.

for southerners, imagine putting fev in charge of the AFL.

for our american friends, it would be brighter to put michael vick in charge of animal welfare.

the only possible reason for this is that charlie manson could not get parole.

i am beside myself.

I REALLY hate to say it... but have you seen the Eagles (US) play?

i am assuming you mean the rugby eagles, not the philly eagles?

actually yes, a few times.

and believe me, they'd be a shot to beat the reds at the moment.

no disrespect to the eagles but the difference is that only a few years ago, we were the champion side. and i grew up with us as, not only the greatest provincial side on earth, but a side which beat most visiting international sides. as i have mentioned on this forum before, i can remember when the once glorious reds not only beat a full strength all blacks side, but held them tryless.

this hurts.

Wow, I believe humans have done many incredibly stupid things. Never thought sports would top the list.....

A good time for you to try a change of code Ken?

I'm sure Di is always looking for company at the Gabba when the Lions are getting smashed. I doubt if Rob takes her!

actually, i have life membership at the gabba, so can go to the games for free, and i used to go a fair bit. aussie rules was the first footy code i played as a kid - it was much more popular in brizzy than people realise. a few mates went on to play for the pies - the shame. a good mate was also chairman so would head down to the players rooms after. lots of fun. but they are hardly better than the reds these days.

Yes, I did mean the Rugby Eagles. I can completely see your point. And no disrespect to the Eagles really could be taken. I think a lot of their fans here understand that we're not really fielding an experienced club yet (and with the recent popularity of 7s in the US I don't know that full team rugby here will get the attention it needs for a looooong while).

Man I thought this was going to be a thread about flavored cigars lol

It will NEVER get attention, sadly. The best we can hope for in the long-term is that men's soccer gets some sort of traction.

I like Smithy's post on the Red's Facebook page among the outrage of others

Paraphrasing

"People you have to look on the bright side! Think how much easier it will be to get a beer at the game!"

If that's the stupidest thing to ever happen in human history, the OP was the most important words ever written :P

I thought is was going to be about Hilary Clinton running for President.

And another wonderful post about US politics on a forum where that is explicitly banned for good reason

This is slightly off topic (and Ken, I do apologize for this) but I just got club level tickets to see the Wallabies when they come stomp a mud hole in the Eagles in the U.S.!

it will be fun. the eagles might do better than you think.

i remember a game years ago when campo got four tries, i think. if the all blacks couldn't stop him, the eagles were in for a tough day. oh, for a campo today!
